Three way tie. Moonraker, Octopussy, Quantum of Solace

Moonraker: Utterly ridiculous even by Bond standards, with not even the pretense of believability.

Octopussy: This was so lame I don't even remember it.

QoS: There's a Bond story by the same name. Maybe someday they'll base a movie on it.

I sort of agree, but I'd add TMWTGG. Too much silliness, poor production values and that effing slide whistle. Though on the plus side, it did have Christopher Lee and Herve Villechaise.

Leaving Craig out, I concur with Dr No about "A View to a Kill". Sir Roger was way too old by then. Loved the soundtrack though

Including Craig, well clearly both of his movies. Though the worst by far is QoS in my opinion.

Good for you, don't. But you know, in a way it's a good way to have excellent arguments against the direction of the Franchise. Don't misunderstand me, I didn't like CR at all either. (yes I know this is an unpopular opinion). But QoS was just a whole different level of bad.

QoS had nauseating shakeycam and horrific editing so you couldn't even tell who was fighting. The fights were too long and tedious. The plot was ridiculous--we're going to buy a water company? Really? And while I can easily believe some leakage from MI6, an assassin in next to M? Really?

I know there was almost two hours more, but apart from Craig scowling I don't recall it.

It does prove, though, that Craig was not the failure. He was a symptom of the failure. The producers raped a puppy.

Yeah, VTaK was pretty bad. Walken couldn't save it.

TLD was originally conceived when EON weren't sure whether Roger Moore would be returning for another movie, and there were bits that were throwbacks to Moore's portrayal of Bond. Like that one.

I agree. It's not just Babs' hormones he appeals to, it's her and MGW's vanity as well. They strike me as the archetypal "clowns who want to play Hamlet". They've inherited this huge, populist franchise from Cubby, but they see themselves as deserving something better, meaning Oscar-chasing middlebrow dramas. Their recruitment of Craig, Haggis, Forster and QOS writer Joshua Zetumer (and probably Peter Morgan and Sam Mendes as well) all followed the same pattern:

"We'd like you to do a Bond film."
"But I hate Bond films."
"That's OK, we're trying to shake up the franchise, you can do whatever you like to our property. I WANNA OSCAR!"

QOS was a truly bitterly disappointing cinema experience. So its bottom of the list (probably?).

Now to the other films.

TMWTGG :- Weak film, silly kung-fu copy, even 'Cubby' said in hindsight film needed re-writing. Chris Lee, though was excellent.

Moonraker:- Blinkin heck, Bond in outer space, with laser guns. I bet Ian Fleming would of said 'WTF'

AVTAK:- Unremarkable film, totally unrembered by many, except for Chris Walken's performance

If pushed to say a non-Daniel Craig one I would say A View To A Kill. It is a bit weak and the legendary Moore is a bit past it. I still love it though.

I think Kristatos summed it up nicely "Clowns who want to play hamlet", I don't want to put the Series down but I always thought of them as a kind of Movie McDonalds or KFC, A high Quality Action/thriller series made with high quality staff and crew, A mass market product but very well made.With money being spent to give them High production values.
But now they are definatley trying to get lots of artistic credit bringing in well known script writers and arty type Directors. They've made the money , now they want some silverware to for their Offices to show how "Talented " they are compared with the Old guard who could only make Money.
I don't mind them trying for an award or two but not at the expence of the hole series. Never before in all my years as a fan have I thought the series could End!.
Basicly bringing in New Directors would be allright if they where given strict guidelines as to what can and can't be done in a Bond Movie.Sadly it seems they've thrown the Baby out with the Bath water,as Directors can now do what they like with the Character and format.
I had hopes they Might of learned something from the backlash against QOS, But with Eon's new arrogance I expect QOS 2, Even many critics slated Qos but the producers still seem determined to press on with their New Bond.

I suppose in this analogy, that would make the Craig fims one of those poncey burger joints that has tablecloths and metal cutlery and charges $10 for a burger. But at the end of the day, it's still just a burger.

Years ago I would have said DAD.

Now I say TWINE. Probably the messiest film and with the worst depiction of James Bond on screen. The worst moment has to be when Bond decides not to inform MI6 that Elektra is suspected of being a traitor but rather break into her villa and jeopardize the whole operation by trying to pull a "ah-ha! caught you!" moment on Elektra with very little evidence. Bond could have simply informed MI6 of his suspicions, thus doing further investigating without alerting the enemy, prevent M from joining the field and getting kidnapped. And this is all supposed to be because Elektra really got under his skin, falling in love with her (hence the intentional OHMSS allusions) and finding out she's the traitor is why he is acting such a fool.

I actually like the concept of Bond falling in love with a woman who he later finds out is the head of the enemy he's after. But the way they handle the development between the two is very poor. Bond has a one night stand and suddenly she's under his skin and it interferes with his judgment? More should have been done between the two.

A great example of Bond losing his cool is when Dalton interrogates Pushkin. By this point he lost a colleague, he's running out of time and things aren't adding up. Bond looks obviously troubled but he keeps himself on a professional level. Keeping his distance, his eye on Pushkin, quick thinking, ect. When in TWINE Bond interrogates Renard he's not keep his distance, constantly fidgiting around, not keeping his eye on Renard the whole time and letting his emotions get to him more than he should let. There were plenty of opportunities where an opponent could have snatched the gun away from Bond with ease.

Anyway, TWINE is the worst. I wouldn't even call it a least favorite because it certainly is NOT a favorite. DAD may be retarded but at least it's attempting to be more camp while TWINE is just a bad soap opera complete with women slapping eachother in the face (one of M's worst moments).
