You are not missing anything. Cameron's movies suck IMO any way. Avatar was horrible.
I rejoiced when his EX wife kicked his butt at the Oscars. And EVERYONE wrote about that  "Beating your ex husbands at the Oscars? Priceless". Avatar is yet another of those ridiculously overrated "movies". I agree it's horrible. How people can get all interested in those blue things is beyond me.

I've only watched Titanic Once, and was so Bored. It takes an Hour and a Half before the Ship gets into Trouble,By that time I was hopping the'd all drown.Avatar is Fine but not the Religeous experience some people claim.Given the choice I'd rather sit through "Piranha 2, The flying killers !" Cameron's other Epic. :) He dosen't seem to want to talk about this one as much !

To make me sit through something that is basically animated cartoon with special effects it takes James Bond with me at the theater  Otherwise, I only watch cartoons if they are actually that. Disney, that is. Or the Happy Feet type.

I still have to see the Hurt Locker too, Katie, and I plan to do so. Been told it really is great. What saddens me is that the biggest producers worldwide of mines? US (Italians I mean). And even worse it's in the province where I live (Brescia). The Beretta factory is about 40 or so km from my house.

There is a Spielberg movie coming out this year I want to see...War Horse, set during World War I. The only reason I want to see it is Benedict Cumberbatch(from Sherlock.). He's my Henry Cavill!

Uhm, were we saying about Gerard Butler? Sure, he appears everywhere and makes very questionable career choices. But apparently L'Oréal thought about spelling it all out for us. I'm ! there's BOND THEME in this "making of" for the ad. As in, "no we aren't doing something like Bond. WE ARE DOING BOND". And sorry, with all his faults, good Lord this man is hot. And certainly FAR more Bondian than Craig will EVER dream of being. They really did all they needed to. Put him in a tux, made him drive fancy sports car (actually looks like a Ferrari to me, but I'm unsure, I've only watched once) and made him play poker. Uh, Casino Royale as it should have been? They are pretending he is "himself" in the movie, as in an actor shooting a movie and then also having real life. So basically he's playing himself playing Bond. Uh, not sure that is clear? LOL. Now seriously, I'm going, I need to stop gushing

It's not that good to be honest.
Whilst the acting is fine, the film just seemed to drag on and on for me. Certainly not Oscar worthy imo. But then that's not saying much nowadays.
I found The Hurt Locker quite boring. But maybe it's just me.

I always found it strange that Butler didn't seem to be in the running for Casino Royale. Did he test or speak to Eon? He's younger than Daniel Craig by two or three years too if I remember correctly.

I don't think there was actually any film in the camera when Cavill and Worthington tested.

LMAO! Except we should be crying about this.  So pre-production is halted. What a surprise, not. I'm pissed though because I want this to be done and dealt with ASAP. I want to see Cavill (or whoever else LIKE HIM) play Bond and I don't want to wait 5 years before that freaking happens! This is all so bad I can't even begin to explain. They better get it together quick. I guess the good news is that there's NO Director attached to the project, so Mendes has been dismissed.

Of course this is being denied elsewhere and debunked as not true.. cue the usual reactions: "Bond 23 WILL come out in 2012", etc.

Well MGM publicly denied the QUOTE from Wilson and Broccoli. Which means at the very least there's a war ongoing. Which is even worse than to say production has halted.

The big websites like to think they have the story first, and that their is the *correct* version of the story.Any aberration from that gets shot down quickly.

They also like to delude themselves that a (good) Bond film is going to be out in 2012.Dream on, I say.

The big websites don't have the story first at all. This is ALL Variety's doing and nothing else. MGM cannot afford to have Babs and Wilson go around say production is halted: the situation is bad enough as is for them, so they can't afford negative publicity. Hence the denial. Variety pulled the first story and published a second one because MGM said production is not halted BUT the main point was that MGM denied Mendes is the director (The second story was about MENDES and had a MENDES headline). So whatever they delude themselves into they better check those facts. MGM are contradicting themselves, on teh one hand they're saying production isn't halted (clear damage control), on the other they're saying MEndes is not the director, which means stating the movie is at an even EARLIER stage than we thought it was at. Really? Anyone who can think can see it's a bloody mess and MGM is all over the place.

There is no way a good Bond film is going to be out in 2012, without a script OR EVEN an appointed director at this point (MGM's words that they have no director, not mine. And Wilson's words that nobody is working on a script). And without ANYTHING having started yet as of now, they will have to rush. And big time. As I said, I give them until mid-February. If by then there's no announcement that production HAS actually started, then well it becomes nearly impossible to have the film out by 2012.

And of course when it dawns on them that the story IS true they are going to have to do some serious backpedaling. It wouldn't be the first time. They're waiting for a "official" source. :?

Truth be told, I don't think anyone be it here, Mi6 or CBn ACTUALLY knows what the heck is going on.
When ANYTHING of any importance is known, I'm sure all will be notified.
Untill then, I'd be taking ALL of this with a pinch of salt.
THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE.
