Rocky, Rambo, John McClane......all of those characters made a comeback.

I was expecting to hear real news of Bond 23 production starting as the new year came around. The 2011 deadline was missed and 2012 deadline is coming up very fast. They would need to be getting everything ready now to make it.

Here's to another year of inactivity and a retooled series emerging from the chaos

I won't begrudge the pro-Craigs' their optimism, but a Bond film in 2012 is seeming less and less likely.

Well it's only Jan. 1. We'll see if there's no news by the end of the month. At that point I would start to think things aren't really progressing at all. If they need the movie to be out in 2012, writing the script must resume no later than that. Since Wilson told the site that shall not be named that there was NOBODY working on a script, that that part was halted, back in October, and nothing has resumed since, I would say they have until the end of the month at the latest to start working on it again.

Katie... I take it you didn't do that marathon? LOL

First off....

HAPPY NEW YEAR.
NewYears

Hope everyone had a good one?
As for Bond 23, I'm not decided really. But it's not scheduled untill the end of 2012, which gives it near on 2 years untill it hits cinema screens.
Admittedly production is going to have to move fast, but I'm sure it can be done.
What worries me though is that EON having not got a finished script will fill in the gaps on Morgans work (probably badly) and rush the film into production. Similar to how TND got made. Whilst the end product isn't a disaster, it could've been a lot better.
The other problem is if they hold production and even seek a new Bond, then lord only knows how long the wait will be.
Will BB do a dummy spit at losing Craig?
Will we have a hiatus of many years?
Cubby and Harry made movies year after year, and then every other year. And most of them were great with a few minor exceptions. Though all of them re-watchable, and all containing at least something entertaining.
Nowadays it's like these producers (and not just Bond) can't be bothered to make good movies.
From 1995 onwards the films have gotten harder and longer to make. I can understand that making them is a tiring effort.
But then so are alot of things.
At the end of the day, do I think we'll have a Craig as Bond in Bond 23 at the end of 2012. At this point, yes I do.
Will I be okay if we have a Bond movie in 2012. Yes...even if it doesn't have Craig in it.

Happy New Year!!

End of 2012 means November, because that's when the big movies are released. Doubt they want to make it a Christmas release. Usually Thanksgiving is when it occurs.

CR was released in November. Wilson admitted nobody's been working on a script (and for sure at the very least since July last year) and all that is halted. No script means no casting first off. So that is the first thing. Without that, they can't do anything else. Those morons say they take a YEAR to write a script (Which is beyond ridiculous). Even taking into account they'd have to RUSH and that SOME stuff has been done (though Wilson was very vague and didn't say anything about ANY part of the script being ready), they'll need 6 months to redo and fix. Which means casting to start in June. Casting takes quite a while. Even if they're super quick, they can't be done in less than 2 months. And there's scouting for locations and all that to be done, too. Not to mention all the crew and whatnot. I mean really, pre production MUST start ASAP, and they can't afford to start filming/principal photography ANY later than Jan/Feb 2012 to have the movie out by the end of the year. (that's late already, because most action movies end filming a year or more before being released). I mean, this clearly shows the clock is ticking and they're VERY tight on time already. I do think if by the end of the month nothing is moving (and I mean really moving), then it'll be very difficult for them to meet a 2012 deadline.

I'd imagine location scouting and some of the work has already been lined up.
Even though the film was on hiatus, EON could hire location scouts, regardless of the films status.
Hopefully we get Bond visiting...
Australia.
With some far east locales, with a spot of skiing along the way.
And to save money, they could shoot it down under too.

They could have but they didn't probably sat around waiting for royalty checks to cash.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians was just on HBO and what junk. Brosnan as a centaur with DAD tortured hair? Sean Bean as Zeus? Thurman as Medusa? Things must be bad in Hollywood for these actors as this was utter trash and is basically Harry Potter meets Clash Of The Titans, which is on HBO next week. FBF, check out Pierce as a centaur. You won't like it.

If you think Percy Jackson is bad, wait till you see Clash of the Titans. I thought Pierce was quite good myself, though the film is a blatant rip-off of Harry Potter.

I do like Sean Bean but he seems to be one of those actors who does anything and appears in lots of awful things.
