I feel sorry for Satsuki, but then I felt sorry for her when he was gallivanting around with Babs. It would be ironic if she and Freddy Zollo ended up commiserating over a few drinks and then one thing led to another....katied wrote: Seriously, I could care less what Craig does in his spare time. Re: Daniel Craig gay scandal
Might be time to feel sorry for Satsuki. I was taking all of this with a grain of salt and as I am about to forget about it more gets added to it. Found this posted somewhere else.
Someone mentioned to me that there were pictures of him on vacation at a beach that just happened to coincide with other gay stars and that some of his cloths in CR ad Qos were suggestive. Who knows maybe, I can't imagine why he doesn't come out and say it instead of letting the rumors build and build. Neil Patrick Harris came out and it hasn't hurt his career at all.The National Enquirer says they got no response from Craig's PR people
This story would seem to be outweighed by the fact that Craig and his longtime girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell just bought a one-bedroom penthouse in Tribeca.
The Wall Street Journal reports they paid cash for the flat, which was listed at $1.9 million.
Interestingly, the real estate agent on this deal was Fredrik Eklund, aka gay porn star Tag Eriksson.

When livelihood is tied directly to meager scrapes thrown from their master's table it tends to make one mindful of potential wrath. A independent fan site like this one and a few others are more able to discuss all aspects of this without fear of reprisal, true freedom of speech and association at their best. So far it doesn't seem like anyone here or elsewhere have gone too far with this, all have been respectfully cautious discussing this allegation, an allegation I for one am very surprised nobody from an official position has bothered to respond to. What I would hate to have happen is for Craig to use this as an excuse and sympathy getter. Prima donna he is, I don't doubt he would play into it (Oh they fired me because I came outJames wrote:And now the CBn thread on this has vanished too.

Did he? I didn't know that, I know he auditioned for Bond years ago. What a shame Will and Grace didn't use him.Kristatos wrote:That's be like John Barrowman being turned down for the role of Will in Will and Grace because the casting director said he wasn't convincing as a gay man! It seems beyond questioning that Craig did in fact go to the gay bar. I wonder why are there no pictures? Is the National Enquirer holding on to them for later publication? Is it because there is a bidding war for the pictures?
I think it has been blown out of all proportion and there are no pictures because nothing as happened Enquirer described it.

If Broccoli believes this, she will be on phone with DC and any new MGM buyer will probably have the needed excuse to can this farce of a Bond and rid the Bond world of him once and for all.

Re: Daniel Craig gay scandal
With all the stuff that's going on, I think that might be a good idea. Too bad that a financial problem would/could possibly be the end of the Bond franchise. But given a lot of factors(how long will it take to get things sorted out with MGM, Daniel Craig's aging among them) it's a logical conclusion. The Bond world should retire, not just DC.

Good point about the lack of photos. Considering the way he acts when fans take take pictures he would be very aware of cameras..... On the other hand maybe there are no denials yet because he knows there might be pictures and if photos surfaced after he made a denial it would blow this story up to headline proportions.

Re: Daniel Craig gay scandal
This story isn't as big a deal as it would be if they had pictures...but yeah..they would have a lot of 'splanin to to if there were.
Generally, I get the feeling fans could care less. There is a lot of "this is a tabloid story-why is there a thread about it?"- fair enough,I suppose. But if there were pictures, would they be so quick to explain it away?I'm sure there are some people who drink the Craig kool aid so much they would try to claim it was photoshopped.

I get the -its a tabloid story whys there thread stuff. That is how I'm taking it, mostly, the more I find out the more likely it seems gong back to the 80s. One place has it that he faced the same scandal years ago about him and Michael C Hall at a bar. Thats whats adding credibility to these now wide spread allegations. Does it affect my persona opinion of him not at all. Do inquiring minds want to know definitely.

On the other hand, the lack of a denial could be because he thinks the story is ridiculous and to deny it would be to treat it with more seriousness than it deserves. I think that would be a mistake myself, but it seems to be a common attitude among those in the public eye.Dr. No wrote:Good point about the lack of photos. It was a mistake not to answer this, it's gone viral now. It's around the world in every language, as much as I hate to admit it people around the world are talking about this at office water coolers everywhere. Some of the impetus for this story I suspect is from certain aspects of the gay community who revel in outing famous people in high profile positions true or not.Kristatos wrote:On the other hand, the lack of a denial could be because he thinks the story is ridiculous and to deny it would be to treat it with more seriousness than it deserves. Some parts of Bond the fan-base has trouble with Pierce being friendly to the gay community, even later playing homosexual or bisexual characters which Pierce was a pioneer realising the social trend long before it become recognised or popular. If Craig is gay I hope he would feel secure enough to admit it, he would be better off in the long run. Althou there are probably Hollywood marketing people with all kinds of charts probably telling him not to.
When it comes to discussing peoples personal live, which could just as easily be ruined I am uncomfortable talking about it. All of the scandals of politicians who ruin the families lives for the sake of their political career/reputation/political expediency sicken me. When it comes to public figures private lives I want to give them a wide latitude. It is so easy to screw up and lose the people we care about, I would prefer not to be a part of that. Unfortunately I think Craig let this get too far and this has to be addressed sometime. It will be the the punch line of jokes and gags for long time, not unreasonably so in my opinion. That's what satire is.

I think Craig's fans will understand, for the most part. But yes, there are definitely homophobic Bond fans. I like to think that that is a small percentage of fandom(at least I hope so..)

Re: Daniel Craig gay scandal
If these rumours are true then Craig has had a strange run since the euphoria that greeted Casino Royale. First that girl who played Mrs Strawberries - or whatever her name was in Quantum of Solace - said Craig is so short he has to wear shoe lifts for Bond. Then QOS was panned by the critics and fans. Then we have these rumours.
Someone must have cursed him.

the shoe lift scandal then the Bond girl who doesn't want to take him to bed because he looks like her dad and another actress who said she would love to be a bond girl only if Craig leaves and someone sexy gets the role now this.Yep somebody cursed him

Re: Daniel Craig gay scandal
The shoe lift thing *was* pretty embarassing. I don't see the gay rumors as a curse..maybe problematic for his career. He's doing himself no favors by staying silent on the matter, that's for sure!
