This Forum Isn't so Bad

Post by TheScashMan »

This forum is not so bad, despite my disagreements with some others here. Of course, should I find myself banned and my posts/threads locked for no good reason then I will think otherwise, but, so far, so good.

It seems the members here (aside from the odd idiot here and there) are at least willing to listen to alternative viewpoints regarding Bond and it would be a pleasure to see if others agree/disagree with some of my proposals. I have noticed my threads have quite a few hits for such a small forum and that in itself shows that people are at least reading what I have to say! Which is most excellent.

My main proposal is that all members of the forum sign a petition demanding Roger Moore be reinstated as Bond once more and for all films (aside from the ones he's already filmed) to be re-made each and every year until they are finally completed. I am sick and tired of waiting years and years before another Bond is made, and, usually, they are substandard drivel that waste everybody's time. Why won't fans demand that Bond films be screened annually? And why won't they demand Sir Rog return to his role?

Well, I shall not go on too much about this in this OP, but, just so you know: I am NOT a troll and I am only interested in serious, logical discussion and debate!

1) I'm not signing a petition to being Sir Rog back.

2) Remaking the movies, especially with Sir Rog, at his age,is a bad idea.

3)I'm starting to care less and less how long it is going to be before Bond 23 comes out.

4)Most fans would rather Sir Rog stay retired.

Disgraceful! I am CERTAIN Ian Fleming himself would have been APPALLED to read such a dismissive comment!

2) Remaking the movies, especially with Sir Rog, at his age,is a bad idea.
How can you say that? Why, look at a recent advert he filmed only last year that PROVES he can still make women swoon:

3)I'm starting to care less and less how long it is going to be before Bond 23 comes out.
That's the only thing I do agree with on your list!

4)Most fans would rather Sir Rog stay retired.
But REAL fans do not!

You should know by now that no ne else here agrees with you on Moore still being Bond, so why are you expecting members here to sign a petition? You already know what the answer will be.

And Fleming wrote Bond stuck in his mid to late 30's. He never got older in the novels, and Fleming NEVER wrote Bond being in his late 50's, never mind 80's.

So don't spout crap on here that this is what Fleming would have wanted.

Sir Rog, with the right makeup, could easily be made to look 35 once more. He has a most youthful complexion!

Even with the right makeup, Sir Rog doesn't have have the strength to do Bond at his age.

But he was looking especially fit and healthy in this advert filmed merely last year:

The more I read of Scashy, the more I am convinced that his posts are a wind-up and he is just trolling. I mean nobody could seriously take an advert that is basically one long joke about Sir Roger's advanced age and use it as proof that he is still young enough to play Bond...could they?

Personally, I find that ad a little sad to watch. I'd rather remember Rog as the suave, handsome actor he was in The Saint and his 70s Bond films.

Sad to watch?Yep.Not only that but tragic. And having him as Bond now could make that figurative, as well as literal.

And Bond fans used to be such fun. Now they waste their time trolling and concocting false production rumors for which the tabloids didn't need any help doing in the first place. Sir Rog is gagging for work but he wouldn't touch Bond again except for a cameo as M's husband or whatever P&W managed to regurgitate. Those advertisements he took on were embarrassing for anybody with an ounce of shame. Leering at a 16 year young German model poolside isn't how he should be remembered.

Him with the model might have been cool the first few years he was Bond...now it just seems a bit pervy.

I think she would have been rejected even during Roger's Bond years for being too young. Is she really 16, as someone said, or was that just a guess? Anyway, Cubby's mantra was always "The must be women, not girls". Lynn-Holly Johnson was the exception, but Bond's reaction to her advances acknowledges that.

Having said that...I would
