Some Bond fans wanted escapism. Others want realism. If that's the case, why not both and balance each other out?

If they could do it, and not screw it up, sure!

We are approaching out 600th page here and DC is still technically in the role;however,in light of the money required to do a Bond film and DC's waning support and poor performance of ALL of his other films, and throw in his disgusting facial look for Bond, the clock MIGHT be ticking on his tenure as Bond with the right new people at the helm who could get tough on this annoying Broccoli and straighten her out. As I said, if Tobey can be recast after his success as Spiderman, and with Avatar bringing back euphoric fantasy into films, there is no reason for Eon not to return to a real Bond formula with a new M, Q, etc. What would be the purpose in aged DC meeting Q and Moneypenny for the first time and then replace him in the next film? NO way are they using DC for 4 more films so it is time to jettison this joke from the Bond realm and let us all finally enjoy Bond as we want him, as we like him, and as he should be.
By the time this MGM situation is resolved the Bourne/24 era will be well behind us and Craig's Bond may well be out of fashion with whatever trends develop over the next few years. People might want more fantasy. QoS was only the second film in the reboot with Craig and already critics started to complain that it lacked the elements and staples that made the franchise famous and fun in the first place. If a new studio is in place they might want to go in a different direction and have a say in who plays Bond. I still think it's possible that a third Craig film wil pitch up sooner than expected but even if they make Bond 23 in 2012 that will four years after QoS came out. If they had a really long break now it would make more sense to recast the role with a younger actor than give Daniel Craig a swansong four or five years after he last played the role.

Who has the required cash to buy MGM? If no one buys it, what happens? Do they file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and continue as they are now?

I'm not going to defend QOS here, as it doesn't warrant defending. It was a mess of a film, and a real let down after what was achieved with CR.
But I don't simply want a return to the 'Bond formula', that's why the Bond films were slowly letting themselves down. After forty years, the 'formula' was looking more than a little tired. Bond had to change. Even the critics had said so.
We then got CR and a new spin on Bond, and the critics lapped it up, along with the vast majority. But with QOS the critics had had enough and cried out for some of the 'old school Bond' elements to return. :?
I want Q and Moneypenny back, I want gadgets with a little more fantasy, I want more humour and most of all I want Bond to end up with a girl at the end.
Surely it can't be that hard to make films like FRWL, OHMSS, TSWLM or TLD. The Bond's of old were often good at remaking the old films, and adding a different take on them. Why not now.
Let Michael G Wilson take a part in writing a new Bond story like he did with Dick Maibaum in the '80's, (FYEO, OP, TLD, LTK) but use a good writer to work with him, and we may find a happy balance for Bond to continue.
As for Craig leaving. It doesn't look like he will, but I can see a point to some of your arguments to having a new Bond if we're to get a new M and Q.
If that happens then Cavill would get my vote.
Jackman is to old to take on the role now, and the less said about the list from William Hill the better. Though Jackman should've been on the list as well.
Just shows how ridiculous some of these 'next Bond' lists are.

USA Network has the rights to CR and they are going to show it as many times as possible, apparently. -it was on a bunch of times over the weekend.

It seems like CR was released a decade ago, not 4 years ago. CRegg's time as Bond has really gone by slow after his less than historic intro on the river.

Danny will return even with a 10 year hiatus. The formula is attacked but it run for 40 years so it must be rather good.

I strongly feel that the current gnomish psychopath James Bond is not James Bond.

She turns 50 this year, June 18, so at 60 she would need psychiatric counseling under those conditions mentioned. After all, in 2001 she started dating her cook who was 12 years younger than her and it lasted for 4 1/2 years. I thought she is married though? CRegg could and should be done. The Bourne Mimicry is now on cable tv on Showtime. I have HBO so fortunately, the boredom watching it will not be realized. It was given only 2 1/2 stars on their rating schedule. Poor for a Bond film and the ONLY one I can remember rated under 3 stars on Time Warner Cable's media guide.

If she's married and is seeing her cook(or anyone else that's not her husband)..an open relationship maybe?

BTW it's amazing to me the amount of movies-both good and bad-available on cable. I have digital cable but none of the premium channels like HBO and Showtime(though sometimes they have free weekends where you can watch them for free).Doesn't surprise me that QOS is all over the pay to watch channels.

Iron Man 1 is good. Depending on your taste in movies. I liked it and think it deserved the high praise. I plan to be there opening night for 2!

Iron Man was a very decent comic book / superhero movie. It has lots of appeal, you should really watch it BJ, I'm sure you would enjoy it.
I certainly intend to see Iron Man 2 shortly.
Give me Iron Man over that over hyped garbage that was Avatar anyday.
As for Daniel Craig being in the role in 10 years. I don't see it. One maybe two more films and I think your nightmare will all be over.
The only thing that worries me is you're taking the reviews from a tv guide seriously. Even I held you in higher regard than that.
