Thanks Sweenster.

Another tabloid rumour on Freida Pinto making the rounds in the British press...

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstop ... -film.html

This one has decided to include Aishwarya Rai into the mix. Though Ms.Rai appears to have been rumoured as a Bond girl since TND.
Pinch of salt anyone?

Jeez, the tabloids just cannot let the Freida Pinto rumor drop. There seems to be a little bit of fetishism of Indian women on the tabloids' part!

Weisz is an OK actress. I think if they are going to go somewhere interesting with it and not having it be a rehash of something they've done before, then great.
Gag-Gag ain't no lady. She should reboot her career, drop the facade, and sing ballads like she did at NYU College here in NYC. She happens to be a decent songstress IF you get passed all of her BS for that will not have longevity. She appears off the wall in one on one interviews.

I don't think she'll do that while she is still enjoying so much success with her off-the-wall persona. That reinvention will come once people get tired of all the "lobster on the head" stuff.

Will Eon ever do a "classy" theme song again with a "classy" singer, not the musical riff-raff of the last several films?

Well I agree on that god awful song from QOS. Possibly the worst title , the Jack White/ Alicia Keys colaboration was terrible.
In saying that I grew to like "You Know My Name" by Chris Cornell. It's a good title song imo.
Then we have the highly discussed "Die Another Day" from Madonna. I don't mind it, but I can take it or leave it.
I've often though a title akin to OHMSS might work? No title artist, just a piece of music?

How about her playing a nuclear scientist ala Denise Richards and make a real comedy out of it?

The Chris Cornell song doesn't bother me nearly as much as the Jack White and Alicia Keys one does.

The last one was dread awful. Time Warner offered $1.5 billion for MGM. That was the highest bid but MGM said is was too low. They have been granted extensions on their March 31 debt payment and they might try to stand alone by guaranteeing to make 6-8 films per year to stay solvent. I wonder if CR-egg as Bond is in the discussions? The company is in big trouble. Earthquake felt in San Diego. Did MP feel it?

Danny has played two grim Bonds and is due for a touch of camp. Can he camp it up? Powder is not so sure.

My thoughts were that Bond alone should make MGM desirable after reading some of the details I started to wonder.

Let for arguments sake say the studios get 45% of the moneys made, CR would be like $297 million dollars and QOS would be $293 million dollars.
Then it hit me that the studio only owns half of that, now it is down to $148 million dollars for CR and $146 million dollars for QOS, and that is if I am not forgetting something important as with whatever happened with the 15% Disney got in Mazers example.

It appears to me it would take a damned long time for a studio buying MGM to make back their money on Bond. Other than being big name it might not be worth half a billion. I am not trying to be doom and gloom here somebody, anybody please correct me where I am going wrong here.

Simon Pegg said that Craig is all full of giggles whatever that is suppsoed to mean and that he isn't a serious sour face guy all the time. Surprises me. I have never seen Craig do anything that came off a funny, not intentionally anyway. I don't think he has a comedic bone in his body and doubt he can do a cooler funny under pressure Bond like Connery and Brosnan did. I think the whole point to him anyway is that he is Britains answer to Jason Bourne and if he were able to be tell a joke on screen they wouldn't have rebooted it the way they did.

People don't seem to believe that the Rachel Weiz rumor is just that-a rumor. It's being taken as gospel by some....

Comedy is not needed for Bond though, just a likeable persona, which CasinoRoyale-EGG cannot pull off.

I know I'm not really supposed to mention other boards here if at all possible but it's interesting:

The homewrecker thing is being mined for all it's worth at Commander Bond-where people continue to believe the Weisz rumor is true. :^o):
