Police in Britain have reopened their investigation into the 1985 death of singer Shirley Bassey's daughter after detectives received new information that she might have been murdered.
Samantha Novak was found face-down in a river near a 75-metre suspension bridge in Bristol 25 years ago. A coroner's report said the 21-year-old had tumbled off the riverbank after a night out with friends.
Police began making fresh inquiries into the case after the mother of Penny Beale – who was killed by her partner Michael Moffat in 2001 – told them her daughter had said Moffat was involved in murdering Novak.
Bassey, 73, who is best known for the theme songs of James Bond movies such as Goldfinger, has always maintained that Novak's death was not an accident or suicide.

wow!
Never heard about this. I have such a high opinion of the Brit police maybe because of all those brit detective shows I'm surprised a murder slipper through.

Chief of Staff, 007's gone round the bend. Says someone's been trying to feed him a poisoned banana. Fellow's lost his nerve. Been in the hospital too long. Better call him home.
