I could live with all those changes - but to then cast Daniel Craig as the young Bond? Why not a young actor, or even a Bond like actor?
My main gripe with the film.
“I'd like to thank the Royal Marines for bringing me in like that and scaring the s--- out of me,” Bond Hardman Daniel Craig.

It's a generalised interpretation that has been spawned from Connery, Lazenby, Moore, Dalton and Brosnan. All handsome men that had the look of class, which 'Hackney Hod Carrier' Craig simply lacks.

There were lots of people on all the James Bond forums along with others suggesting that Daniel Craig had the wrong look for Bond when there were rumours about his casting. Many changed their mind for various reasons. I'm with Skywalker in that I still feel Craig lacks the Bond look.

I thought he didnt look the part at all either by traditonal Bond standards or the novels description of him. I found his performance to be bizzare wooden and hammy in equal measure. The torture scene has some of the worst acting ive seen and that includes any Ben Affleck movies :D

I personally thought the torture scene in DAD was better, although the film was equally poor.

Have you ever seen Boiler Room? Ben Affleck played a very good role in that film, although it was brief.

The torture scene was excellent in DAD and the PTS was set up fine. I thought Pierce finally had his best role as Bond;however, the remaining 2/3 of the storyline went downhill.

Brosnan was easily the best part of DAD and I agree that the first third of the film was very good (apart from the surfboarding Ninja's).

Even if I could find a fault on Craig, it wouldn't be one of the options above. :?

I wish someone would give me a valid reason why Daniel Craig is James Bond. Perhaps that's an idea for another thread. On another forum.

Why is Daniel Craig James Bond?
Well for me he's the right age to play Bond. Even though he's a rookie OO7, he has to be a veteran. I don't think you could have a plausible Bond in his twenties having gained the experience Bond has in order to acheive a double o status.
He has shown to me some of the traits I believe Bond should have. He's an assassin first and foremost, but he's also got the caring and compassionate side. As seen in the shower scene in CR. He can be ruthless and cruel, and has a classy and debonair way about him, and the all important Bond sense of humour. Though I don't expect too many sensible replies, you asked for a reason why people thought Craig IS Bond, I answered.

I think he lacks the charm his predecessors had. Whenever I see Craig's Bond, I always think of him as a serial killer.

Craig's Bond is a bit like Dexter. Without the humour and looks.

No, you either have it or you don't. And Craig doesn't.
