In CR, would you have liked to see more of Murino and less of Green, or did you find the on screen time appropriate for both? Would you have preferred their roles reversed?

Well for once I agree 100% that rap has no place in a Bond film.
Or anywhere else if it was upto me.
But singers like Tom Jones and McCartney never go out of fashion, there would be very few people who would mind if they returned to the Bond scene I'm sure.

Either one would be OK by me Nash, and I would prefer them to a lesser known entity, like Cornell.

Bourne 2 did not do that great internationally, yet it did great in the USA, and outdid CR here. Is the UK not enthusiastic for spy films outside of the Bond realm? Do you enjoy Bourne films as much as Bond films Sweeney?

Detente exists Nash among the Bond fans! The polarizing casting of Craig coupled with Eon's reboot scheme was the dividing issue for a lot of Bond fans, more so than any in the past. There seems to be little middle ground, and Craig has became a love/hate relationship with our community. But, as you see, we can come together and agree on things.

I am going to agree with the idea that there should never be a rap theme for Bond. and I wouldn't mind to hear McCartney doing another Bond theme. I know nothing of the american idol singers and could care less about that show. If anything I'd like to hear the Rolling Stones take a shot at a Bond theme.

Paco I am amazed that The Rolling Stones never did a Bond theme, given McCartney did. Do you think it would fly now, for they still are the greatest concert tour draw out there. I saw them last November and the venue was packed.

Yeah, I saw them 3 times on the last tour, the most recent being at Churchill Downs in Louisville back in September. and I think it's strange they never did a Bond theme considering the fact that they are still one of the biggest bands ever.

I'd still like to see Oasis do a Bond song, but I think their popularity over in the US may not be big enough for this to happen.

I think Ash would do a good Bond theme. Some of their songs have a very Barryesque quality. Though, as The Sweeney said of Oasis, they are not well-known enough in the States. I think American audiences would only know them, if at all, from their contributions to the Shaun of the Dead soundtrack.

Sad but true.
I'm trying to think of a good female artist who could do justice to a Bond ballad. No-one is springing to mind at present.

Ash are a really good band. Seen them live and they really rocked. Not sure if they would produce the right sound for Bond though.

If they went with the Rock angle again, I would like to see Metallica.

yeah, Oasis isn't considered a big hit maker over here, I think the last time they had a US hit was Champagne Supernova. I'd never heard the stones turned down Goldeneye, that's a shame. If not the Stones, perhaps Morrisey, Bjork, or the Foo Fighters.

Have you heard There's A Star? It has an orchestral overture that sounds so Bondian, I had to check the album credits to make sure it wasn't written by John Barry.

Yeah, I know that a tie-in hit single is an important promotional tool for any film. If bands were picked simply on being the best band for the job, I reckon they'd be in with a shot, though.

How well-known is Chris Cornell in the States? I'd never heard of him before CR, though I was vaguely aware of his bands Audioslave and Soundgarden.

Cornell as a solo act isn't really known at all, but Soundgarden and Audioslave were both huge selling bands. although they weren't know for hit singles as much as big selling CDs.

Eon actually asked the Stones to do a theme song? Interesting, I cannot imagine why they turned it down, unless the money was not right. What about U2 doing the next Bond theme?
