Calm down. You seem to be obsessing. Have a cool lemonade and watch the State Of The Union's GOP response on youtube. It was excellent.

But it is not?The Sweeney wrote: Empire gave CR and QoS 4 stars (I think they now give CR 5 stars) and Total Film has just voted CR the reboot of the decade.
People are going to be talking about Star Trek or Batman reboot IMO. Ten years from now they will still be talk about the Trek and Batman reboot. If they were shooting for in the last 10 years it wasn't CR that was the best reboot anyway.
I really don't go by empire or total film you get a film culture that judges them not by actually watchability but other standards which really don't work for me. But the same could probably be said for almost any reviewer if they do it long enough.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
The Governor of Virginia was excellent, looked presidential, and Keith Olberman of MSNBC was already blasting him, so you know he must have done well. Oh-bama was boring, he has lost his appeal, he is devoid of democratic middle of the road ideas, and looked tired. His own democrats are blasting him as well as is Warren Buffet who backed him in 2008. DONE......fork time....

There are some movie critics who have been doing their job for a while.... you read the reviews for some of the movies they review and think "they liked that?"

Gene Siskel loved Saturday Night Fever! I can't stand it. Most of those critics are old men who expect every movie to be a Shawshank Redemption, Citizen Cain and Godfather.
Transformers 2 was paned but it is far more watchable than GI Joe.

I thought G.I. Joe is better than ROTF. Probably because it almost feel like Bond.Omega wrote:Transformers 2 was paned but it is far more watchable than GI Joe.

Siskel was exactly who I was referring to. I have never got the appeal of Saturday Night Fever myself.Omega wrote:Gene Siskel loved Saturday Night Fever! I can't stand it. Most of those critics are old men who expect every movie to be a Shawshank Redemption, Citizen Cain and Godfather.

Especially with" Tara" from the soap opera All My Children playing the lead female role. They could have done far better for her role.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Fran Drescher was in it as well(she has a pretty small part but a little Fran Drescher goes a long way!)bjmdds wrote:Especially with" Tara" from the soap opera All My Children playing the lead female role. They could have done far better for her role.

I'm certain a recent issue of Empire (a review of the year perhaps) gave QOS 3/5. I'll have to check the website.Omega wrote:But it is not?The Sweeney wrote: Empire gave CR and QoS 4 stars (I think they now give CR 5 stars) and Total Film has just voted CR the reboot of the decade.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I am reading a few reviews about Campbell's new Mel Gibson movie and found a few interesting points, one reviewer said talking about Campbell's Bond experience
Here is another fact I didn't know about GoldenEye
Seem like a little more reflection is happening further away from CR we get." - the first starring vehicle for Mel Gibson since 2002 that happens to be a gut-punch thriller from Martin Campbell, the solid director who brought us one of the best post-Connery James Bond films (Goldeneye, of course). "
Here is another fact I didn't know about GoldenEye
I was not aware of the Bonds being flat since 1979GoldenEye was a huge box office success as it went on to gross over $350 million worldwide, the most successful Bond movie since Moonraker.

A reconsidering of their original review, apparently.I'm certain a recent issue of Empire (a review of the year perhaps) gave QOS 3/5. I'll have to check the website.

Nope - still CR 4/5 and QoS 4/5

So they consider QOS to be the equal of CR?The Sweeney wrote: Just checked Empire Online -

Empire gave QoS 4/5 when it came out (it was Kim Newman, who should know better) and then downgraded it to 3/5 when they reviewed the DVD.
