Susan Boyle Bond Theme?

Post by Blowfeld »

by Ann Warren
Susan Boyle, the middle-aged songstress who won the hearts and ears of Britain's Got Talent judges, as well as a legion of fans, is being tapped to sing the theme song for the next James Bond movie "Bond 23."

Boyle, 48, recently blew away the charts when her first album ever, "I Dreamed A Dream" raced to the top and over by selling more than 2 million copies worldwide, and still counting.

Now she is in the running for one of the most iconic singing roles ever, made great by original 'Goldfinger' singer Shirley Bassey, singing the theme song for the 2011 Bond movie starring Daniel Craig.

Nothing could be finer than being the singer who thrills the audience, their voice a sweeping backdrop behind the cut-out spy figures and wild graphics, with the opening of every Bond movie.

Boyle is reportedly thrilled to be up for the job.

Lee Pfeiffer co-author of 'The Essential James Bond' book, described Susan as "a throwback to those great days when the likes of Dame Shirley Bassey would be asked to sing", reports BANG.

The singer, who led a lonely and reclusive life before she auditioned for UK reality TV talent show 'Britain's Got Talent', says she still suffers from depression due to her difficult childhood, and continues to struggle with her learning disabilities while maintaining herself amid the newfound fame.

She told The Sun newspaper: "I can be a bit funny after being tired but whenever I go on stage I forget all about that. I feel I've got a communication with the audience. I'm told I'm a different person on stage."

Susan has previously told how she was beaten "every day" as a schoolchild, and felt "left behind" by the education system in her native Scotland, reports BANG.

Boyle checked herself into the Priory Hospital in London a day after she finished second on Britain's Got Talent in May (09) - because she was exhausted after suffering from insomnia, reports WENN.

Since then, she has recovered nicely and in fact, looks fabulous.

Perhaps recording the Bond theme song can at last make up for some of the difficulties she's experienced, as Boyle's gift
of a great voice has, finally, changed her life for the good. (c) tPC
