Zac Efron wants to play a villain in a 'James Bond' movie.
The ‘Me and Orson Welles’ actor – who is best known for his role as clean-cut student Troy Bolton in the ‘High School Musical’ franchise – loves the series of films about the iconic British spy and wants a role in the next addition in the franchise, which currently stars Daniel Craig as the lead character.
He said: “I’m a huge James Bond fan. I’d love to be a Bond baddie. I’ve seen pretty much every Bond film. Sean Connery is my favourite and I really like ‘Goldeneye’ with Pierce Brosnan.”
As well as playing a villain, 22-year-old Zac also wants to be seduced by an older woman on the big screen, revealing his ideal part would be to star in a remake of ‘The Graduate’.
Asked about his dream movie roles, he told Absolute Radio host Christian O’Connell: “I’m still waiting for that script and that director. I like a lot of movies from the 70s. A movie I just saw again and one of my favourites is ‘The Graduate’.”
Favorite Bond Movie: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible, Kingsman: The Secret Service and The November Man or any upcoming actioners starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good since it will help him expand his reputation as an actor especially in the action realm)
Favorite Movies: Star Wars Indiana Jones Star Trek The Dark Knight Trilogy Harry Potter Middle-Earth The Matrix Mission: Impossible The Mummy Jurassic Park Godzilla
What is it wiht these children I've never heard of wanting to do Bond movies!!!
He would be too young for Craig, like many of the Bond Girls I guess. Now rebooted Bond with a young actor this guy might work. But we'll have to ask his mom if it s alright fist
Chief of Staff, 007's gone round the bend. Says someone's been trying to feed him a poisoned banana. Fellow's lost his nerve. Been in the hospital too long. Better call him home.
Maybe Broccoli will convince Jackman to play Blofeld in the next film. What a mistake for Jackman if he would ever consider it. There seems to be more going on with Jackman/Eon than just this current Broadway utilization of his reputation.

Eon is possibly up to something with coaxing Jackman into this role with Craig, be it to somehow utilize him in a film or another Broadway production. They do not do things randomly but with purpose.

Doubt Jackman would take the pay cut to work for them as a baddy or take second billing to Craig again.
Now what would be curious is if Jackman, MGW's choice for Bond were to get the chance to do his Bond with MGW making the movie he wanted to make years ago. Now that might be the only carrot to keep MGW from retiring.
Favorite Movies: Bullitt, The Long Good Friday, The Towering Inferno, Jaws, Rocky, Superman the Movie, McVicar, Goodfellas, Get Carter, Three Days of the Condor, Butch & Sundance, The Sting, All the Presidents Men

I don't really want Jackman in the role as Bond. If we had to lose Craig, I would prefer Gerard Butler.

Butler isn't a high profile star just yet. He should be fine for now.

I have seen enough of GB and he is not Bond material either. He is also a mumbler and too awkward for the role of Bond.
