So with that in mind you wont be upset with the casting of Daniel Craig then. It's not a problem for you.
And what gave you that idea?
Well you seem to be saying that the producers or film makers should only use Fleming as a guide?
Well if that's the case then I can see no problem with Craig's casting.
Quite the opposite in fact. My point was that they shouldn't use the novels as the only guideline. I thought I expressed it clearly (how do you understand a phrase: I see no point in?)
- "Do I look like I give a d**n?"
- You don't. And that's the main problem.

Lucky them. But I can't help I didn't enjoy it at all.

Well then I guess you'll be avoiding Bond 22 then Robert?
As for your thoughts on who Bond should be. To some extent I agree.
Cubby and Harry made some great films and then Cubby alone. Now we have Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson carrying on the family business.
The cinematic Bond is still there, and so is Flemings Bond. It's just that we all see it differently.
But as much as I like the cinematic Bond, I feel the best way to understand Bond as a character is to go to the source. Fleming.

I thought so. But I've changed my mind. I'm interested if Craig could do better. He certainly doesn't have the look, charm and charisma, but as I've said above it's the script and this whole reboot idea more responsible for CR failure (imo). And as anti-Craigers are in the minority thus EON wouldn't be much affected by me not buying a ticket for the new film.

I agree with that assessment. For me, the offbeat casting of Craig was merely a symptom of deeper problems with CR.

They are all linked and when put together made for the disaster that we had with CR and DC.

You contradict yourself alot Skywalker. One minute you say Craig did well and he's not the biggest problem. Or that CR was a semi decent film.
The next CR and DC are the spawn of satan!
What gives?

Not at all.

I've stated my piece. I've been consistent with my criticism's.

No, you are not alone here with that way of thinking. There at least half a dozen other people on this site that feel the same way you do.

Meanwhile, the rest of the world looks forward to seeing Bond 22, after thoroughly enjoying a Fleming-inspired CR, with Daniel Craig as James Bond.
Well, THE WORLD (not just the know-it-all people from UK and USA who has the internet and the magazines) doesn't even know the Fleming Bond, doesn't even have the original Fleming novels. They know Bond through the films. They know of the charismatic and suave cinematic Bond. Of course they would watch the next Bond film in hope that Bond returns to the suave character they know.
BOND sells, NOT CRAIG
The reboot is a risky area, did Eon need to do it? NO. Did this confuse alot of people? YES.
The Bond character will always be anchored in the values of the 60s

Of course, the world hated CR and Craig's performance. The world is upset that the Bond they know from the lighthearted films is gone and now they have Craig as Bond. Infact they are so upset that they are only going to see Bond 22 just to hope the real James Bond will return. How could they possibly be wanting to see Bond 22 because they like Craig's Bond? That's unheard of. When Bond 22 breaks all records of Bond including Thunderball adjusted, I'm sure the real reason is that everyone only went to go see it hoping Bond would return, or just because they never saw Craig and CR and so it was all curiosity.

I think you could be onto something here stocks. :P
The massive success of CR was because the world had to go see CR to find out what to do...and they'll all stay away from Bond 22 like the plague!
Of course how do we account from the generally positive and glowing reviews?
A toughie, but I'm sure Skywalker or one of his buddies will help.

Isn't it obvious? They're just a small vocal minority because the higher up majority happens to believe CR is so terrible that they do not wish to waste their intelligence and almighty wisdom.

Watching a movie is very different and very far from liking the actor. They would watch the next Bond flick because it IS James Bond, much like Star Wars. A lot of people doesn't like the new set of Star Wars, but since it IS Star Wars, they went to the movies. Plus the population of the world two years from now would be different than today.

The first one of you for a while to say that Craig is Bond. Like you say Jedi, it IS James Bond.
Okay, alot of people do not like the new Star Wars trilogy. That's true.
And the population thing...nah, can't give you that one. Unless of course there is a massive population explosion between now and a year from november.

Did I say Craig is Bond? I said that the next movie with EON, Purvis and Wade, and Craig in it would be carrying the name James Bond, and that name is what will attract the people into watching it. Definitely Not Craig.
