The rate this is going, I can't see Craig doing a 4th one. Why are EON taking so long on this?
Maybe this is what Babs wants to do rather than making Bond movies, which she was never a great fan of. If her brother were to leave as it is rumored he would like to, all bets are off.

Why the hell don't they just sell the Bond franchise off to someone who CAN make decent films, and someone who cares about Bond. Stalling production for 2 years is pathetic.

Mike Wilson is bored with the whole thing. Barbara lacks ideas and is confused after Quantum of Solace flopped. It's a shame that Cubby Broccoli did not have an enthusiastic son who could have taken over.

What do you think we have been saying here Sweene? Eon=artistically bankrupt. Just look at who is playing Bond in that ridiculous french beret and the fact that 2011 should be the next release date? They got spoiled waiting 4 years after Brosnan and getting away with it. It is time for a new Bond with SONY calling ALL shots without Amy Pascal though. The Sweeney wrote:Mazer Rackham wrote:Riddle me this... Chief of Staff, 007's gone round the bend. Says someone's been trying to feed him a poisoned banana. Fellow's lost his nerve. Been in the hospital too long. Better call him home.
Tarantino is a loser and would ruin Bond for good. Just look at his face when he talks. His films are utter trash IMO.Kristatos wrote:katied wrote:A shame that Mikey has made noise about leaving as he would be the obvious choice to take over. But who would take it over? It would have to be someone as passionate about Bond as John Lasseter is about Disney (I didn't know until I saw the South Bank Show on Pixar that Lasseter is now head of both Pixar and Disney's animation department). I can't think of anyone with that sort of clout. Yes, Tarantino is a Bond fan, but is too idiosyncratic to be able to run a franchise with mass appeal - a Tarantino Bond film would appeal to Tarantino's fanbase and few others. My ideal Bond producer would be someone who loves the Bond films, even the cheesy ones, but who is smart enough to know that what worked in, say, 1973 wouldn't necessarily work today.

I'm right here.I can't think of anyone with that sort of clout.
Look no further Kris. I love Bond, appreciate all the movies. Even DAD is growing on me. I'll even admit that I think QOS was a mediocre / weak Bond film.My ideal Bond producer would be someone who loves the Bond films, even the cheesy ones, but who is smart enough to know that what worked in, say, 1973 wouldn't necessarily work today.

Sigh. Once again, I'm not just talking about the likes of you or I, I'm talking about A-list producers who also happen to be fans. People like Russell T. Davies on Doctor Who or John Lasseter at Disney. People like that are not going to produce mere fanwank. Rather, they set out first and foremost to produce great movies/TV, but also have an instinctive understanding of what makes their respective franchises work.
katied wrote:Got it. That was more a reponse to Nash's post than anything else.I should have been more clear. My bad. I do think they could do what you're talking about-and actually make a *decent* Bond film.
