Or at least Broadway audiences. Off-Broadway is a different matter, but I thought Broadway was all musicals these days, so that foreign tourists who don't speak English can still get the gist of what's going on (ditto London's West End).katied wrote:IMO this is the sort of thing New York theater audiences run away from.

Degeneres replacing Abdul as Idol judge? I guess they think the ratings drop needs comic relief. Abdul screwed her no-talent self big time. Dancing With The Nobodies awaits.

Just out of curiousity, you know that James Bond isn't a superhero don't you James?
I think Craig is saying he couldn't or more likely wouldn't want to play one of the 'cartoon' superhero characters. Think Spiderman, Batman...The Hulk.

Just my take on the quote anyway.
Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
BJ,IIRC you live closest to New York.Have you seen any reviews or anything that says whether the play is good or not in the New York area papers?

There was a suggestion, however, that some female audience members may not have been there for more than purely theatrical reasons.
One woman who saw the opening night declared: 'They were great, but we could have done with more nudity.
'I mainly came to see Daniel but, with Hugh as his co-star it's a two-for-one.'

A sad story for the actors who pioneered the play in Chicago.

If this preview is anything to go by, it could give Craig's popularity a bigger boost in the US than Bond....

Doubtful since the yanks don't go by the theatre much. It is not like Patrick Stewart and David Tennant in RSC's Hamlet. I don't know if I have ever heard an American talk about a production that wasn't Cats or some such drivel. The Sweeney wrote:If this preview is anything to go by, it could give Craig's popularity a bigger boost in the US than Bond....
For the man who once eschewed learning lines for a play I think it is a good step for his career. Hugh already has made it as an actor and proved his credentials with The Boy from Oz.

Seems that the preview has gone well.
And there are actually people that like Craig. Who'd of thunk it?

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I'd say that Craig has made it as an actor of both film and theatre. Casino Royale being his most successful film to date. I thought that would be fairly obvious. His work in West End plays has also earned him high acclaim.Blowfeld wrote: Hugh already has made it as an actor and proved his credentials with The Boy from Oz.

Now that's just sad. There are actresses that I fancy, but I can't think of anyone who I'd pay $125 to see in a play I knew nothing about.
