Rate the final films of the five classic actors

Which of the five classic Bond actors had the best send-off as Bond?

1) Tim Dalton - Licence To Kill. He left too early.
2) Sean Connery - Never Say Never Again. Sean had two send - off, but I suppose this should count as his last Bond film. It could have been a disaster, but it is a cult classic with a great perfomance from Sean.
3) Pierce Brosnan - Die Another Day. Pierce should have made another. Die Another Day is a controversial film, but I like it.
4) Roger Moore - A View To a Kill. It was time for Sir Roger to depart, but I enjoyed his finale.
) George Lazenby - On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Geroge nerver really started! If only he could have made Diamonds Are Forever.

Probably Timothy Dalton although it's a shame he never really got the chance to make a more fantastical third Bond and really cement himself in the public imagnation. He's been largely forgotten now. It's galling indeed to reflect that with Bond 23 Daniel Craig will have made more James Bond films than Dalton.

Tim Dalton had the best last outing. He had a lot more to offer but his reign was cut short.

If we're talking about the EONised fan edit of NSNA then I might consider swapping 3 and 4 around. I think the original version suffers from not feeling like a "proper" Bond film.

NSNA had some redeeming qualities, namely sean back in the role. I actually like DAD well enough a few things I would change but what film doesn't have them.
LTK was OK I liker TLD better. i like ohmss just slightly better.

AVTAK had WAlken but tahts about all it had going for it. Too bad he was wasted.

Too right. Before production had finished on DAD there were all kinds of announcement about Brozza being back for the next one.

Brosnan finished his contract, nothing was certain. EON did consider it a possibility just like with Connery and Moore after their final films, but in the end Brosnan went claiming he left on a 'high note'. His tenure was not cut short like Dalton's.

Flat wrong on this mate. He was guaranteed a return he had it all but in writing which turned out to be the problem with their promises.

I think Brosnan's fate was sealed when Dana Broccoli died in 2004. Barbara had no one left to answer to and could effectively do what she wanted. In this case hire her b-list mate as 007 and more or less become his agent.

Dalton got cut short, but LTK wasn't as good as TLD.

AVTAK sucked.

I think Never Say Never Again is underrated. It's far superior to QOS.
