The new "Q" and "M"?

Post by Roger Devereau »

Does anyone have any suggestions for new actors/actresses to play Q and M?

I feel a woman Q would be a good idea. This would work if the old style formula was brought back.

For M, Patrick Stewart would be fantastic.
'She looked sharply up at him. 'And who might you be?'

'My name's Bond, James Bond'.

In Bond 23, Judi Dench should be kept as M, and Q and Moneypenny should be left out, but if those characters are to return, I would say bring back John Cleese and Samantha Bond.

I think Villiers should become the new Q, since he effectively filled the Q role in Casino Royale. I'm fine with Dame Judi staying on as M for as long as she wants to do it (edit: I wish they had recast M for CR, to avoid mucking up the timelines, but what's done is done, and recasting the role now wouldn't really achieve anything). I saw a trailer for the film Confessions of a Shopaholic starring Isla Fisher and thought that Fisher might make a good Moneypenny, for no other reason than that her hair is Lois Maxwell Red. I've a feeling she and Craig have some personal history, though, which might make things awkward on the set, but I haven't been able to find anything to back that up on The Google, so maybe I imagined it.

Defnitely Isla Fisher if you're going for a younger Moneypenny.. Gillian Anderson if you're going for a more mature Moneypenny(she can do accents)

If Isla Fisher is cast as Moneypenny then perhaps Sascha Baron Cohen could be Q. :D

There was a rumour she (Gillian Anderson) was going to be the Rani in one of the Doctor Who specials this year.

(The Rani is a renegade Time Lord)
