I watched an interesting two part BBC documentary featuring Sir Terry Pratchett exploring the various Alzheimer's treatments. Terry was recently diagnosed with a rare form of Akheimers.

A current "can't miss" for me is The Exterminators on the A&E channel here in the States. It's about a pest control company(a family affair- several family members run it) in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Louisiana, with its perma damp (due to a) the heat and humidity and b) hurricanes(in Southern Louisiana anyways) ) has no shortage of pests. Last night they had to take care of an alligator which not everyone can do.

Watched the series finale of Reaper last night. I hope it gets picked up by another channel (The CW cancelled it), firstly because I like it and secondly because the finale didn't exactly offer a lot of closure. The ending definitely set up at least another season's worth of stories.

What's with all the shows getting picked up by other networks? They did it with Scrubs and there's at least 2 shows that were cancelled that are going to be on different networks next season.

I'm watching the new series of Dexter; John Lithgow looks loony in it. Also Heroes - the new series has had a good start. I'm also watching the new series of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Re: What TV programmes are watching at the moment?
Finally got to see the first episode of True Blood, after loads of people telling me how good it was (it was on HBO when I lived in the States, which we didn't have, then it was shown on a UK cable channel that we also don't have, and now it's finally arrived on UK network TV). I liked it, but not quite as much as I expected to given the rave notices*. Still, it's only the first episode, maybe it will get better as it progresses.
*=The same goes for Peep Show.

I want to watch a couple episodes of True Blood to see if I like it..I saw the first season on DVD at Costco(warehouse store) for a good price. I've read almost all of the Sookie Stackhouse books. They're a lot of fun.

Re: What TV programmes are watching at the moment?
I have been watching the BBC (on BBC4) technology season. One 3- part program showed a family spending a week in the 70's, 80's and 90's using the technology of that decade; it was interesting to see the development of technology. Most houses today seem to resemble the Starship Enterprise!
They also had a drama - Micro Men - about the development of the home computer in the early 80' in Britain. It showed Clive Sinclair (inventor of the awful Spectrum ) and the developer of the BBC micro (even more awful ) competing againt each other.
