True, but even I find it a tad repetitive, and I basically agree with BJ that Jackman would make a better Bond than Craig (though Purefoy was my first choice).

Repetitive,yes but...

I give BJ credit..he's not getting in people's faces when it comes to Jackman and he gets a lot of credit from me for that. 8)

Purefoy would be fine. He is starring in an NBC summer tv role. Let's see how he comes across.

The concept is quite relevant. Why? Jackman is only 40 and younger in age and looks than Craig. If credibility is to be restored to the role, having a new director with as yet an unwritten script, title, etc., and keeping an aged Craig to star in another Bond film in 2-3 years would be counter productive. Eon seems lost. MGW requires rest. Where is the energy to get this franchise rolling? They got away lucky in 1995 with Brosnan reviving Dalton's fiascos, after waiting 6 years.

Is that the latest incarnation of The Saint?

Craig has said he'll do Bond "until his knees go". Well, what with the way he gets put through his paces making Bond films, and his premature aging :P that should be sooner rather than later!

No. That fell through. June 24th he plays a renegade billionaire who helps people in The Philanthropist. He would do nicely also as Bond, very nicely, if I don't sound too repetitive. :D

Better your repetiveness than the in-your-faceness of some people where Craig is concerned!

The villainous Red Rackham of TinTin is next for Craig in a big budgeted trilogy movie. If this locks up his time, who needs him as Bond? I have no idea of what this TinTin is. Can anyone enlighten who knows it well?

As I said on another thread,I don't see the Tin Tin movie being popular in the States...and they're going to make 3 of them? The Golden Compass did well, but not well enough for them to make all 3 books(there's 2 other books in the series) into films.

It's a long-running series of graphic novels by the Belgian comic book artist Herge, about an intrepid young reporter who gets into all sorts of adventures accompanied by his dog Snowy (Milou in the original French). Steven Spielberg became a fan after someone told him that Indiana Jones reminded him in tone of Tintin, though Tintin is a younger, more innocent character than the world-weary Indy.

"I'll shave your beard you porcupine"; I'll pluck your feathers you poppinjay", is uttered before Red Rackham is killed. Great entertainment  . Craig as a pirate. Flop city.

Already dismissing a film because Craig is in it? Only BJ would.

This is a Spielberg flick we're talking here. Not direct to video or limited release. :P

I used to watch the 90s cartoon adaption of Tintin. I hadn't seen it in a decade, but I used to be quite fond of it. I can barely remember the plots of it, only the characters.

Yes,it's Spielberg directing,That doesn't guarantee that it'll be a hit though. That title has GOT to go for one thing.

Not that The Powers That Be are reading this :P but they'd do well to do a focus group before they put the Tin Tin movie out in the States.Head the fail off at the pass, if you will

The name Tintin is flop material? Right.

In fact, when was the last time Spielberg had a major flop? 1941?

No wait. What the hell am I talking about? You guys are only targeting Tintin because Craig is in it. Well, maybe only BJ. I keep getting the sense that Katied only says negative things about Craig in jest or to amuse BJ.

The whole title(about the unicorn) is what I'm thinking *might* doom it. Craig's part is ,from what I've read, small. His being involved in it is only a minor part of the problem.

As a director or a producer?

Minority Report, Munich, Catch Me If You Can, The Terminal, & Artificial Intelligence: AI, all under preformed. Before Indy 4 his last somewhat big hit was War of the Worlds. IMO that one stinks a bit of a crap remake.

Spielberg has a reputation and no question he get projects going and makes dreams happen but he also has another reputation one less known by the public. Studios still fight over him, more his name than himself recently, the people I've talked to say it can be hard for studios to make money on movies he directs.

I was talking major flops, not "under performers", whatever that means. He's not cranking out the biggest blockbusters (Pirates, Dark Knight, Spider-Man) these days like he did in his prime, but he's still having a pretty healthy run, far more than you can say for a fellow "film school generation" director Copolla. I'm even more puzzled that you put CMIYC under the label "under performer".
