Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Wolverine and Star Trek are both out within the next three weeks. Will either or both top the Quantum Of Nonsense in the USA and even worldwide? Star Trek has it's fans as does the X-Men but will they outgross Craig's last fiasco?

Well, I intend to see both, and I'm not a fan of either

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......

Will Star Trek be a big blockbuster? If it is, the makers will be pleased as I think the Next Generation films were not really big blockbusters.bjmdds wrote:Wolverine and Star Trek are both out within the next three weeks. The next generation films were lacking to me. This TRUE reboot looks awesome. Trek vs. Craig's Bond: will Trek top QOS? Will Woverine?

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
My dad always says that movies that are advertised to death can't be that good, but I think he might be wrong about Star Trek.
Interestingly,I noticed that it seemed that the advertising for the QOS DVD wasn't nearly what it was for the CR video. Interesting

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Craig has basically disappeared from the tabloids too. For such a hyped Eon entity and a host of film releases, there is nothing out there about him.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
And when they are, they're negative(see my thread over in the Daniel Craig section about him flipping out on a reporter
)

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Who would have ever believed that Mamma Mia would outdo a Bond film in 2008/2009? Eon took a big hit here.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Ain't that the truth!Look,I enjoyed Mama Mia a LOT more than I thought I was going to.I hate to say this but Pierce is actually making getting fired from the Bond job work for him.True, not all of it is quality, but at least his movies are probably getting seen by more people than most of Daniel Craig's non-Bond films(Flashbacks Of a Fool was in one movie theater here in the States.One,y'all.)bjmdds wrote:Who would have ever believed that Mamma Mia would outdo a Bond film in 2008/2009? I am sure the gang at MI6 sugar coated his antics as properkatied wrote:And when they are, they're negative(see my thread over in the Daniel Craig section about him flipping out on a reporter)

Mamma Mia's audience probably tops ALL of Craig's non-Bond film combined.katied wrote:Ain't that the truth!Look,I enjoyed Mama Mia a LOT more than I thought I was going to.I hate to say this but Pierce is actually making getting fired from the Bond job work for him.True, not all of it is quality, but at least his movies are probably getting seen by more people than most of Daniel Craig's non-Bond films(Flashbacks Of a Fool was in one movie theater here in the States.One,y'all.)bjmdds wrote:Who would have ever believed that Mamma Mia would outdo a Bond film in 2008/2009? Oh, of COURSE they sugar coated it.Whaddya expect from them?I am sure the gang at MI6 sugar coated his antics as proper. Craig is a horrible ambassador for the franchise with his foul mouth, lack of charisma, poor interviewing skills and off beat looks. To even think of him in the next film is ludicrous. Enough.

Hits the nail on the head. Craig is the worst ambassador the frachise ever had. Primarily because he don't care about the frachise and only sets about to promote himself.bjmdds wrote:I am sure the gang at MI6 sugar coated his antics as properkatied wrote:And when they are, they're negative(see my thread over in the Daniel Craig section about him flipping out on a reporter)

This is the guy who went out of the way in early interviews to stress how beneath him Bond is. It probably doesn't please him to have his betters openly snickering at him when he was out there shilling Quark.

Generally when big advertising campaigns goes into swing there is an expected recoup of the investment spent advertising it in the first place. Some of the thinking is that there is a bigger audience available out there and all they need to be is informed/sold about/on the movie. Studios spend serious money on advertising. Sometimes to the tune of $100 + million. Despite what some Bond franchise fanboy morons believe, that is the kind of money routinely spent promoting a Bond movie.
Wolverine is everywhere from pizza boxes to hair care products. Interestingly the free movie tickets with the reissue of the X-men movies hit snag, most of the blu-rays do not have the coupon codes on them. Looks like FOx, who released the Bond Movies with a free ticket on every box, doesn't feel Wolverine needs the B O help. Although the fans complaining about the lack of their promised tickets have probably seen Wolverine already online then saved it on their Wolverine USB drive.

Both Star Trek and Wolverine will easily beat Quarks US B O take and Home Video record when the time comes. It would take extraordinary tanking to sink them domestically.
Besides look what Jackman has

You have to petition the Hollywood Walk Of Fame to get someone a star.Apparently Daniel Craig's fans don't think enough of him to do that!

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
And Craig isn't. Doesn't surpise me.He's not on a par with any of the other people that are on the walk of fame.
