I'm being rather tounge in cheek, although a Jackman Bond movie would make up for the dreadful things that have happened to the world of Bond since 2005.

I have given up on being able to go to the cinema to watch a new Bond movie without Daniel Craig playing James Bond sometime in the next twenty years. If it does happen, I'll crack open the champers and treat it as a bonus.

Bond alternative favorite Christian Bale goes INSANE.

Funny how he's ranting about professionalism.

Done now with Bale as Bond. He beat up his mother too I believe last year. Non-'American Psycho' indeed. Eon will have NO part of him. Jackman all the way now. Japan update: QOS down 67% weekend 2, falling behind Brosnan's big opening for Mamma Mia there at $4.3 million. Japan has $12.6 million for QOS so far, and topping CR will be tough there too. No more excuses, The Bourne Mimicry has OFFICIALLY underperformed CR, and Craig did not deliver what Eon wanted nor expected.

That thing with Bale last year was a bit sketchy...apparently his mother and sister(who he's estranged from) were trying to get money out of him and he said no. Anyways, he's so associated with Batman, and soon will be with Terminator,I can't see him saying yes to another franchise if he were offered the Bond role.

I recall he said he wouldn't mind doing multiple franchises. But BJ is right, EON won't go with a guy with that kind of an attitude. I'm sure it's natural for actors to get angry at distractions on set but Bale really went over the top.

As for Hugh Jackman, it's unlikely he'll ever play Bond. Ever. However, for years I have always thought he would make a great Solid Snake in Metal Gear Solid, which is in script development. Jackman is just right for the role. Solid Snake is basically an American James Bond who's lived a far rougher life, a chain smoking Bas***d.

BJ, did Brozza's second film, TND deliver what EON wanted and expected, or did that underperform too....?

And where did you get the 67% drop-off from in Japan? Read this from another thread on here -
Well, Boxofficemojo has put up QOS' second weekend performance at the Japanese BO up, and it must be said, it's held up extremely well.
This week, QOS grossed $2.61m over the two day weekend. As mentioned before, last weekend's figure was $3.46m. QOS fell 25% - not a bad hold, really. Its two week total stands at an impressive $12.61m.
By comparison, CR grossed $2.34m in its opening two day weekend, then fell 29% to $1.66m. Its two week total stood at $7.01m.
Mind you, it's not really a fair comparison - as mentioned before, QOS made $3m in previews held the weekend before it opened wide (which were added to the opening weekend figure), so it's technically been open a few more days. However, even looking at CR's third week total - $9.46m - QOS is still ahead.
So, to sum up - QOS opened larger than CR, depreciated less in it's second weekend, has earned more money in the same time period, and is assured at this point to outgross it.
As ever - source is www.boxofficemojo.com.

So now you're using the $3.46m figure? Funny, you were happy to tout the $6 million figure including previews when it showed QOS as a record breaker, but now that it shows a second weekend drop of nearly 60% on BOM's chart, it gets thrown under the bus.

Sweener:Japan weekend one was listed at about $9.6 million for QOS: now, BOM lists totals at $12.6 million by February 1; therefore, a 2/3 drop off=67%. Math, nothing but the math. CR did $18.9 million in Japan 2 years ago. It will be hard to now top that given such a low weekend number 2 turnout there. EON NEVER expected this international fall off. Funny thing is that the USA market did better than the international market comparing CR's box office falloff(inflation adjusted) to QOS' box office falloff.. I guess we are relevant after all the anti-USA rants from pro-Craigaholics that the USA does not matter any longer with Eon.

I think it was $6.4 million EXCLUDING the previews Kris. If we use that number anyway, it was a 53% drop off.

I think it was $6.4 million EXCLUDING the previews Kris. I am pretty sure BOM had $9.6 million as their first Japan totals. I could be wrong, so I will try to find that.
It doesn't actually say whether it includes previews or not. But $6,452,284 is what it gives as the first weekend total.

Plus the $3.1 million it did January 17 and 18th which brought BOM first total to $9.6 million. It did $3 million January 17th and 18th, during their preview, and $6.5 million January 24th's official opening. MI6 posted it was on it's way to SMASHING CR's Japan totals........talk about spin.....

No, I'm, pretty sure the $6.5 million includes that 3.1 million. The total gross minus last weekend's total is just over $10 million, and I find it hard to believe that the film only made $400,000 midweek. And I've seen other posts saying that the 2-day figure for its opening weekend was $3.4 million and that $6.5 million is the 4-day figure. That sounds more likely to me.

Eh? Where have I been `touting the $6 million figure'?

To be honest, I couldn't care less how well it does in Japan, or anywhere else now for that matter - hence why I posted someone else's comments. I don't know enough about the subject. As I've said before, I only have a mild, passing interest in the BO numbers of films in general. The only thing that would concern me, is if QoS was a massive, spectacular, huge flop, because I don't want the Bond franchise to end (unlike others on here). But it isn't, and never was going to be, however much people try to spin it on here that QoS has flopped. It may not have done the big numbers EON were expecting, and maybe EON may not spend quite as much next time round, but QoS has not flopped at the BO.

By the looks of it, CR and QoS have brought in more than Brozza's first 2 movies, so in comparison, Craig is already a more successful Bond than Pierce, if you guys think BO figures is the way to determine Craig's success as Bond.

Anyone think it's possible Craig will do a Timothy Dalton and make a run for it himself? I can't believe he wants to go back and make too many more crap films like QoS with MGW and Babs.

Dalton didn't "make a run for it", his contract expired and he decided not to renew it. Unless there's a repeat of the legal battles that led to a 6-year gap between LTK and GE, I seriously doubt it.

When I said "you", I meant Craig fans generally, rather than thee specifically. Apologies for the ambiguity, but it's not my fault that the English language lost its second person singular sometime around the turn of the 18th century (until I decided to revive it in the first sentence of this post).
