I just saw him as a guest on that show yesterday. I didn't know Craig got so nervous around the media. He said his palms were sweaty to Jon Stewart from nerves. He seems different in real life from how cold and serious he was in CR.
I'll have to see if they have that on the Comedy Central website. Craig seems ill at ease with some chat show hosts(I remember his appearance on Letterman promoting CR being pretty cringeworthy but a lot of that was to do with Letterman's interviewing style(and I normally *like* Letterman!)

Pierce was a great match for Bond and he actually did save the series. If he could have done what he had wanted with Bond I think he would give Connery a run for his money.
See I never see that. No one person is responsible for saving the series. His contribution to the series should be noted. But in my opinion he didn't save the series. Anyone (well almost) in the role of Bond in GE would have made Bond a success again. After a six year hiatus Bond was interesting again. The update of the tired formula, a new cast and a new look. They all helped.
Brosnan is good, but he's not our saviour.

I think he's quite a private person and views the publicity associated with stardom something of a chore. I can understand that. I don't think I'd like having my face on every chat show either.
He's very protective of his ex wife and his daughter, which is understandable

Moore and Dalton could not have saved the series. If they had gone with Sean Bean as Bond GoldenEye would not have been the savior of the series that it was.6 year gap and Bond with Brosnan in the lead made the difference.

I disagree. I think anyone who starred in GE the film would have been a hit. It was the perfect timing. It was six years, audiences were ready to rediscover Bond in theaters after a hiatus. It was also a different world and it was interesting then to see how Bond would fit in the post-Cold War era.

Defiance opened in 1789 theatres in the USA on Friday. It finished 8th and did only $2.7 million in total revenue  . Another gem by Craig. He just cannot draw in the USA. The reviews were not as bad either here as were those of TBM, so it is an indication of his lack of box office appeal outside of Bond. At least this one was only a $50 million budget so if it does over $100 million it has a shot at breaking even  . These studios are delusional to think he can carry a film as the main star outside of Bond  .

I agree. I think Brosnan did make a difference. He seemed like a well rounded Bond for the most part. Too bad his films weren't too good except GE. Anyway, it seems a lot of Bond fans these days either hate Brosnan (Craig fans usually) or Craig (some classic Bond fans).

According to reports, Hugh Jackman was immediately contacted by EON to replace Craig as Bond. Here's a photo of Jackman after EON asked him the big question.

Daniel Craig's awful selection of non-Bond films seems to be annoying one member on this forum.

It's more like an obsession. I thought it was DanielCraigIsNotBond. Not DanielCraigIsNotAnActor.
I don't see why Defiance having a low box office opening should prevent Craig from playing Bond again.
By all accounts he is popular with audiences, and judging from that Jon Stewart interview a very genuine man.
Makes a change for hollywood, where many of the stars find it hard to distinguish between reality and make believe.
It's refreshing to see an actor to admit he's nervous doing interviews. Yeah, you can call me a Craig lover, a nut job or a troll. It's all water off a ducks back. But to me, Daniel Craig makes a great James Bond, and is a very talented actor.

Craig's non-Bond films *are* pretty awful.aren't they,Carl? :P

I don't see anything wrong with actors choosing projects that interest them rather than those which will make them the most money. It's the same with Kate Winslet. After Titanic, she could have starred in any number of no-brainer blockbusters, but she preferred to do films like Hideous Kinky and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind instead.

Hugh Jackman is taking over from Daniel Craig? Great news. When does he start work on Bond 23?

On the mark. I recall Craig admitted that he only did Tomb Raider because he wanted opportunities to open up for him as an actor.
