I think Junior Bond would represent his case a lot better if he learnt how to spell. To the best of my knowledge CNB have never killed anyone. You'd think they were the Baader-Meinhof Gang if you paid any attention to these drive-by-trollers. Any number of actors have been trashed on other Bond forums simply for the high crime of not ending up in a James Bond film or threatening to at one point. What I find astonishing is that the gatecrashers from MI6 have actually made CNB look relatively sane by comparison.
Whodathunkit?
As someone famously said on Cbn once: Don't get discouraged by the Craig equivalents of "trekkies." They are already posting with glee how many times Craig took a dump last week.

Jet Set who....? You telling me that fool is on here. Shouldn't he be playing on his ZX Spectrum somewhere else? Mind you, I'm not suprised he finds JB's comments amusing. He's a bit daft like that, so I've heard.carl stromberg wrote:Thank your for your intelligent comments Junior_Bond! Firstly you come on hilariously pretending to be a five year-old; then you call people "wankers" and "retards."
Remember that people from other forums will be reading this, and you are making yourself look a little silly. I'm surprised a normal Craig supporter like Jet Set Willy wants to be associated with you and finds your comments amusing.
He's a bit of an idiot I'm afraid.......

You have to accept that with the material on this website (which could be deemed as offensive material by some), with prior comments from the former owner of this site (which could be deemed as homophobic by some) and with the possibly perceived `blinkered, head-in-sand view' of the News section on this site (acknowledging every negative review out there, but never once acknowledging that CR is actually now a success, both financially and critically) then it is an open invitation to more abrupt opinions from opposing fans.James wrote:I think Junior Bond would represent his case a lot better if he learnt how to spell. If you look at the actual websites of CBn and Mi6 (not forums), there is no material there deemed offensive, and no cheap pot-shots at an actor, so the forums don't (in general) invite that kind of behaviour.
Whereas this site doesn't offer such inoffensive material - hence why some posters on here will be more vocal accordingly.
Horses for courses I guess......

So you admit that CommanderBond.net and MI6 forums contain "offensive material" and "cheap pot-shots" at certain actors. I agree! The Sweeney wrote

That's what the moderators are for! Although - in their defence - on those two forums in particular the job of a moderator is a little overwhelming.....The forums may, as you can't control what people write, but the websites don't.....big difference!
This site has a subjective view. Commanderbond.net and MI6's non-forum content is factual and bland; that's not a bad thing and I think that content is wonderful and they don't want to be controversial. I'm not sure that the owners of MI6 would put an article on their site saying "Pierce Brosnan is an asshole". But MI6 moderators would say that in their forum. (not that I'm obsessed with Pierce Brosnan before you latch onto that!).

I haven't noticed many members at MI6 or CBn taking shots at actors, certainly not in the light that CNB has. What shots that have been taken have been towards the annoying pro-Brosnan fanboys that think Pierce as Bond was the greatest thing since sliced cheese.
It might just be because the vast majority of users at MI6 and CBn are in agreement that DC is an incredible Bond, CR was an amazing movie, this is the right direction for the series, etc. You'll be hard-pressed to find more than a couple of people who disagree. I can think of maybe two or three at MI6 and none off the top of my head at CBn.
And the things MI6 and CBn have going for them are that they are legitimate James Bond fansites with credibility. Bond fans of all kinds flock there. They are legitimate sources of news with friendly, mature message boards for fans to interact.
That being said, it's funny that there are so few on these forums opposed to Craig as Bond. Go figure!

Just because we are opposed to Craig we are not credible and immature. Some of the people here may go way overhead sometimes but what we are fighting for here is not just some dumb kid protest; it is not just how Craig looks and how Craig talks; it is everything. And the things MI6 and CBn have going for them are that they are legitimate James Bond fansites with credibility. Everything from how James Bond evolved into a character we know today, what has happened to him in the past and through his numerous adventures which, has been defined by the past 20 films.
If you would just try to open your mind and try listening to our arguments, you would probably see some light on our side. Don't just tell us to do the same, cause we have been hearing praises about Craig all around us. Some of it, we have accepted as true, but then we would not be fighting like this if there was nothing wrong about your arguments.
Why not try reading some reviews and arguments from this site? They have been researched and are legitimate.
BOND sells, NOT CRAIG
The reboot is a risky area, did Eon need to do it? NO. Did this confuse alot of people? YES.
The Bond character will always be anchored in the values of the 60s

I have listened to your arguments on this site to try and understand. Unfortunately the entire CnB website has suffered from a blinkered view, a perspective which doesn't take into account the huge success CR has been, and is a big hit with a lot of Bond fans on the forum community, and film reviewers the world over.Jedi007 wrote:Just because we are opposed to Craig we are not credible and immature. The credibility of CnB really started to show when it tried to ignore the huge BO takings on its news section. This website is supposed to be a voice for the Bond fans, but how many Bond fans? The majority? Judging by what we have seen towards the end of 2006, I think probably not. Definately a voice for the minority, not majority.
And if I thought CR was an awful film, I would understand CnB's cause.
Unfortunately, I think it is the best Bond film made ever (bold statement, I know). And this is coming from a fan who has been seriously pissed off with the franchise since 1989 - LTK being the last great Bond movie.
I am more a fan of the novels than the films anyway, and after watching DAD I never thought I would see a truly great Bond film ever again.
Thankfully, EON have gone and proved me totally wrong - and for this all I can do is applaud them for such a brave move, especially in light of the amount of backlash caused by this site and the media in the beginning.
They stuck by their convictions, and it paid off.

Yeah, CommanderBond and MI6 are really friendly places for people who aren't huge fans of Craig as Bond. No wonder countless people have buggered off or got kicked off. I'd leave AJB out of this because they have somehow managed to maintain a friendly community despite differences of opinion.

I disagree with nearly everything CnB stands for and now I’m wishing them good luck and god speed with their forum.
Old enough to remember true oppression I can not stand on the side and ignore the deliberate attack on people with a different point of view.
My fellow MI6 patrons spamming these boards have embarrassed us all. A swollen black-eye to the online community.
The spammers here are the worst of what all Bond forums have to offer. Reasonable to assume a number of you posting here were member of these boards at one time and left.
Don’t judge us all by their actions.
I applaud the restraint shown to these unworthy specimens of online hate begging to be banned. Even in the most unlikely place a good thing can flourish. The forum here is the first step in a better direction.
I have enjoyed reading why some of you do not like Daniel Craig (not just because of his physical appearance) and where you see deviation from Fleming’s text in the recent embodiment of his vision at the movies.
Keep it up!~ better things are sure to follow.
PS if you must; it will be understandable if you have to edit/deleted/ban those sorry sods attacking you now. You have my permission for what that’s worth.
Ironically, there were some interesting discussions starting up about Casino Royale until two or three people from the MI6 forum decided to try and spam the boards. One of whom used the highly PC-phrase 'retards'

As I said earlier in my response to this, who is actually spamming? Where's the spam? People are coming from Mi6, true (I'm one of them) but to offer opposing viewpoints to some (not all) threads - or is an opposing view spam these days....James wrote:exMI6Agent wrote:To everyone posting here: apologies from a former MI6 patron.

But to put things into perspective it was you guys who started the 007
bashing at the genuine Bond sites where people tried to have constructive
comments.
Anyway i hope you guys can come around and swallow your pride to once again become Bond fans for the good of the continuation of the Bond

It doesn't bother me. The definition of a forum is a meeting place for debate, a place where people have different views. But if you are going to do fifty-seven posts every day around the central theme of "Wasn't Die Another Day shite?" (as if all those unmoved by Craig loved that film and wanted Lee Tamahori to sign on for twenty-more and Pierce Brosnan to be Bond until he was in a stairlift), it might get a bit trying
