I've just been to see QOS again, and i enjoyed it much more this time.
On my first viewing, the speed of the film took me by surprise.........but this time i was able to take in more
of the films content.
On this viewing i would rate the film as say 7/10, not as good as CR which i would rate as 8.5/10.
The Bourne style filming of the action scenes and editing loses the film say 1 point, and the plot though interesting
is not quite as engaging as CR, hence losing another 1/2 point.
This is certainly a more darker Bond film, and is a light year away from the Roger Bond films.
Plus points are mainly DC's performance as a man out for revenge.
Judi Dench is also very good.
The villian, Dominic Greene is a real wormy, weasel type of character.
Camille is a good character in the film, and Fields is also good but in a very brief appearance.
Mathis and Leiter also have a fair amount of screen time.
Greene's henchman Elvis though is a very weak character, though Mr White's back and has some good lines.
The story though presented in a rather condense form, is still interesting, and is not as far fetched as some earlier
Bond films.
The director Marc Forster certainly stamps his individual style on this film.
I won't comment on the actual film itself, as i know many of you havn't seen it yet.
Though there are a couple of scenes some viewers may feel distasteful.
To sum up..........my initial comments still apply........the producers should forget Bounre, they didn't need to do this,
the action scenes would of been more excitng and viewable if they had kept to the tried and tested way
of conventional filming.
One thing that did take me surprise was the number of people in the theatre.
I went to a early afternoon viewing today where normally you would expect only dozen or so people but apart from the empty front row seats the screen was pretty full.
The next three weeks on release will give us a good idea of the reaction to the film, and its potential final target
From my boxoffice searches i have read that QOS has already taken BO records for opening prerformances for opening day
Bond films released in new territories for this week.
I now expect QOS to do very strong boxoffice in the US next week, something between $50-60 mil should be attainable.
