Connery wasted in DAF?
Diamonds Are Forever seems to be slightly unpopular with fans -even though I have no big complaints with the film.
What should have been done with Connery's Bond comeback?

Re: Connery wasted in DAF?
DAF is an odd film. It seems more like a Moore Bond than a Connery one, yet it was originally intended for Lazenby!

For all it's flaws, I LOVE Diamonds Are Forever. It's quite possibly the funniest Bond film of all time. It gets the comedy angle right unlike the Moore and Brosnan eras, probably because it's mostly black humor and adult. Odd, considering that I prefer films like FRWL, OHMSS and CR.
You know what, I'd love to see Craig in a DAF type flick.

It certainly would have been interesting to watch a Bond film starring an actor that's right around my age. Glad that never happened.FormerBondFan wrote:It would be interesting if Tim did DAF or even OHMSS.

I liked it. But I also like classic Vegas.
I think it proves eon was going campy for the 70's no matter who was Bond. Dalton, Sean, or Lazenby.
Dalton taking the role in OHMSS might have been curious. I do think he might have looked too young like Broz did in 1986.

If Sean had turned down the cash and the chance for a comeback in DAF, do you think Roger would have been in line to make his debut in Diamonds?

Re: Connery wasted in DAF?
I agree completely, I love DAF. As a Bond film it doesn't quite work, but it's absolutely hilarious, and contains some of the funniest lines in the entire series. I'd like to see Craig in a DAF-style film as well, he's got great comic timing (as the funny moments in CR proved), although sadly I doubt it will ever happen.stockslivevan wrote:For all it's flaws, I LOVE Diamonds Are Forever. It's been a while since I've seen it,but I remember DAF having 1971 written all over it(IOW it hasn't dated well
