Agreed. Saw..whatever number they're on now..maybe.Not QOS.
It is a night for parties and trick or treating. I have never go to the movies on Halloween, and if I had it would have been to horror movie

My family goes to the movies on Thanksgiving but that's because we don't usually have family(my brothers, nieces and nephews)to hang out with. And you can only watch so much football :P

This was leaked on purpose. All part of the publicity folks.

It does make me wonder if Quark isn't polling out like they hoped for and now they are releasing spoilers to try to reinforce the Bond Image becasue Craig doesn't generate it on his own.

On the mimicry; it is done is very poor taste. At least now I know what happened to the girls from the TWINE intro. :)
The original Goldfinger scene was never in the Book, although it is mentioned as how the poor girl died.
Repurposing the GF dead girl in a bead is wrong. Now we have to believe either GF is behind killing this girl and is he somehow now more obsessed with Oil than Gold or that some very lame copy cat is wondering around the Bond-verse.

How did the oil up cadaver get so cleanly placed and positioned in the bed?
This was best left unfilmed. In GF it made sense and worked well. Used here it is a lame copycat of a masterpiece. Velvet Elvis compared to a Rembrandt.
This leaves no more doubts about the lack of vision on the producers part. They are still living of Daddy, incompetently reusing his classic accomplishment as throwaway material.

So the people at Bond messageboards who want to stay in the dark should blame EON then?

(Though IMO they are the biggest offenders when it comes to being spoiled-they will click on threads that have "spoiler!!!" in huge letters in the thread title and then complain that they got spoiled. The word "spoiler" means exactly that. I think it's insane that people who choose to read those threads KNOWING they have spoilers in them when they are trying to remain spoiler-free :? )

Yes, it will be new experience for many of them. Blaming Eon.

They think talking about this scene will put butts on the cushions. You have to ask yourself why? Obviously they think reenacting a classic Bond series moment will sell. Why will that sell when Eon says the fundamental principals of the Classic series are unmarketable?
Eon pushes the classic series fans away with one hand then try to trick them in to see one more gimmick with the other.
If somebody saw the original GF scene why would they be titillate by a lame ripoff?

I think my feelings on this can best be summed up this way:Been there done that. And anyone who has watched any amount of Bond films knows it's ripped off and recycled from Goldfinger.

yeah we go to the movies too. Not much of a sports fan myself turns out nobody else in our family is either. After the Parade we either put on a movie, several movies as it is somtimes. Or go out to the movies to take some of the hectic energy away from the house.
Family is nice to have around but when everyone and their significant others and kids crowd a house barely big enough for one family it pays to be creative in finding entertainment. :D

I agree
Anyone who ever watched a ad for Bond movie knows those moments from goldfinger and Dr No.
They reused the Dr no. Honey Rider coming out of the water to good effect in DAD, which was a tribute film to the entire series. So I felt to was some what appropriate there.

In CR the same scene was recycled to use Craig comign out of the water, just didn't work becasue it was such an iconic scene from Dr No and it was ebing use to try to lend credit to Craig's Bodn who wasn't Bond. Same reason I feel they kept Dench as M. She was widely recognized as Bond's boss and would help lend credibility that Criag was supposed to be Bond. IMHO

The fans-at least the ones that don't buy into everything EON says-are starting to notice all of the recycled plots and ideas. To quote the Who(and Dubya) "Can't get fooled again". :P

Who cares if they pay homage to a famous scene from a previous Bond movie?
Is it against the law?
If it works in QOS then so be it. Sometimes I wonder what fun and enjoyment some of you get from the Bond films. To each there own, but the nitpicking and constant criticism of the latest films. Especially since Daniel Craig has taken on the role of James Bond makes me wonder. We all know that many of the members here dislike Craig. Hence the site. But every avenue his films take, no matter how small seem to be a no no with many of you.

I call this the "BJ complex". He criticized the news of QOS having more action while he later criticized the news of QOS having more character development which proves that no matter what direction EON takes, if Craig is Bond then everything in the film must be ripped to shreds regardless.

It's true. If CR had not been a reboot, and if there was a different actor now playing Bond in QOS, I wonder just how many here would have issues with the new film at all. I do get the impression that QOS is game set and match to hate, regardless of whether it ticks maybe some of the right boxes for you.

I'd hate to know what is going to happen to some of you if you find yourself in the cinema actually starting to enjoy some of the film. Bj will probably throw his popcorn into the air, scream very loudly `NOOOOOOOOO!' and run out of the cinema with his hands over his ears.... :P

Not me. In fact I doubt the reboot will be much of an issue with QOS. My main problem with the new film is Craig. For me, even if the film is good, his lack of a Bond look is going to be a distraction, judging by the trailer and other publicity material. It's as if Connery went through one of his classic films like FRWL or GF with a big red clown nose on his face. However much you enjoy the film, it'd be hard to watch it without noticing the clown nose.

That's fair enough, Kris. I don't have a problem with that at all.

What I do take issue with, is members here picking fault with the direction of the film itself (not Craig), whereas normally they would have no objections if a different actor was playing the role.

Because it's done badly.:?

It won't.

Well, of course.Coming from the Bond fan who thinks it's a no-no to hate any of the films :?

Wow Katied, judging from your answers it sounds like you've already seen the completed film. :o Oh wait you're suffering the "BJ complex", you've already made up your mind about the film, even before you knew anything of it. Never mind answering.

What? Ripping something to shreds with no real basis for an argument, pre-judging before seeing, hating something regardless of anything....

I would say yes.
