Ideal Villain

Post by Harvey Wallbanger »

What actor would be your ideal villain?
My 2 favorites -Christopher Lee & Christopher Walken- have already come n gone –but with reboot maybe they could come again.

Out side of those 2 Anthony Hopkins would be a great choice.
Make them serious nudes!

I wouldn't mind seeing Christopher Walken return as a villain. Even Christoher Lee could come back as an evil mastermind, at a push.
Other actors I would like to see take on villainess roles would be Philip Seymour Hoffman and Paul Bettany. Perhaps.

Well, Hoffman played the villain in MI3, so he might not want to do the same thing again in a Bond film.

And Bettany played a villain in Firewall, but these are only suggestions as the original post asked for.

Yeah, but Firewall wasn't very Bondian, whereas MI3 was based on a TV series that was a product of the 60's Bond craze, so the similarities are stronger.

When has Anthony Hopkins played a Bondian villain then?
As nominated by Master Wallbanger.

i'd defintely like to see Sir Anthony Hopkins as a Bond villain. Jeremy Irons, Geoffrey Rush, Patrick Stewart, all spring to mind as well.
But, I'd kinda like to see Bond go against some female world beater sometime. maybe Helen Mirren as the villain?

Tom Baker might make a good Bond villain, but he'd probably be too over the top for the "realistic" direction EON wants to take the films in.

Sir Anthony Hopkins turned down the Bond Villain role for Tomorrow Never Dies to do Zorro.
However, as far as I know, he has never been against playing a Bond villain.

John Glover would be great villain, ever since Brimstone he has proved to be a television actor capable of top notch performances. Maybe a bit too type cast now.

Helen Mirren could be brilliant.
Dame Dench would also be good as a Villainess (this will never happen unless they reboot once more)
Sophie Marceau did an admirable job as Elektra.

Please no. Just go and watch The World Is Not Enough, that should give you a fix. Bond doesn't need a female villainess again anytime soon.

Why reboot?
Let Judy play a bad guy anyway, a rouge M that has to be stopped. She's been a emasculating Bond villain since she showed up.

Vincent D'Onofrio and Chiwetel Ejiofor might work.
A Female villain might be past time. –Sorry Dont see Electra in a serious villainess light.
Done smart could be good.

John Glover would be a perfect villian for Bond. His performance as the villian Lionel Luthor on Smallville is one of the highlights. He could totally pull off that manipulative intimidating mastermind very well. Although he should play the character somewhat different for Bond.

considering that TWINE is one of my least favorite entries in the Bond library of films, I don't think I will watch that one again anytime soon. If you don't think that Bond should fight a female villain, fine, but I think comparing Helen Mirren to Sophie Marceau's vacant idiot performance is kinda sad.

Tom Baker!
What is he doing now a days? Last time I saw him was on the new Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased). Which incidentally also stared Emilia Fox daughter of Edward Fox.

Ol' Tom might seem far fetched but he could easily play a villain.

Ol' Tennant would be brilliant as the Villain, well in almost anything. He got a lot of recognition from Harry Potter.

He doesn't need to play a villain to be brilliant either, dare we say it another Scottish Bond

I think he's a little scrawny for Bond, unless he bulks up the way Craig did.

Sure he's scrawny, so was Pierce, so was Daniel.
In David's favor he is 6’1”, the right hair colour, the right age 36 (next week according to imdb) and he already has a female fan following.
I do not expect David would be taken seriously for the role, and if he signs for another series after 4 he will be making more than eon would want to pay a new Bond actor.

And he does look good in a suit. He is without a doubt the best-dressed Doctor of them all.
