Nice to know us Jedi's have more than the force in common.
Yeah.

I think that if they haven't change James Bond entirely from what has been previously known, --- updating to modern age, keeping the last M as the first, making Bond arrogant and egoistic, making Felix Leiter look like Sharky --- I don't mind whether they made him gritty and dark, I am not against that, --- I think I wouldn't mind if Daniel Craig plays the James Bond role at all.

That's why in other thread, I call the "beginning of James Bond" excuse as lame, since this isn't really the beginning.
BOND sells, NOT CRAIG
The reboot is a risky area, did Eon need to do it? NO. Did this confuse alot of people? YES.
The Bond character will always be anchored in the values of the 60s

I just saw Casino Royale 2006 for the first time. I thought the VESPER death sequence was a dark ending (compared to the other Bond women we have met). Could have done without it-NOT A TENDER memory. Say as compared to OHMSS with Lazenby and Rigg. I AM still trying to decide what the strong and weak points are for Craig as BOND. Most of the action sequences were pretty intense and the locations added to this. OHMSS will always be my favorite ACTION movie of all time because it also had many firsts in it. However, i can't help using OHMSS as a reference to the way BOND was before OHMSS and after OHMSS. Have you ever seen the DVD INTERVIEWS (on the Bond movies). Barbara Broccolli and the other Bond producers really gave him the "THUMBS DOWN" as a person in real life. They, the ones who hired him, point out all the weakest points of Lazenby as a human being and actor. I have always gotten the impression he was "Eight Balled" right out of the series by the Broccolli people. Here we have Casino Royale 2006 and they are experimenting with a new look Bond (Blond hair, muscularity, all that). It worked well in OHMSS, why cant' they get it right again? Granted. LAZENBY was the youngest of all the BOND actors it may have caused some personality problems.

I went to see CR in its first week. I was looking forward to the film and expected a lot after hearing nothing but positive comments. On my first viewing, I remember leaving the cinema thinking it was not only a good film, but also a decent first outing for Craig. Later that night I started to reflect about the film and Craig as Bond. Something just didn't seem right. For the first time ever I decided to go see the film again at the cinema. This time I started to scrutinise the film and analyse all the scenes. My verdict changed after my second visit. This movie IMO would be excellent if Fleming had never wrote the novels and no Bond films had ever been made. Unfortunately this is not the case. On reflection CR failed to deliver the Bond magic, that je ne sais quoi performance, that regardless of script or actor, each Bond film prior has had. If EON had gone with the gritty aspect and not tried a reboot, Craig could be acknowledged as a truly great Bond. I'm not saying everyone would love him, but accept him and that is more than can be said at the moment.

The problem I have with CR is about the reboot crap. Do we need to see how James Bond was before? That's the same problem I have with the Star Wars new trilogy. (EP1,2,3). I remember as a kid how afraid I was of Darth Vader. He had no emotion, a commanding presence and people feared him. That's the image I had of Darth Vader. The image I have of Darth Vader now is of a young depressed man who misses his mother and can't live without is wife. Common! Now back to CR. To me, what we got in CR is a muscle-bound, unrefined, no charm James Bond. Since when does James Bond needs someone to choose his clothing style?
This needs to change in the next movie otherwise, imho James Bond is dead.

??? 'able to convey a full range of emotions'?? You mean the two and only expressions he is able to convey in the entire movie??

One may wonder what has made you come to this confusing conclusion?

And one may wonder how your brain manages to function on one cell....

You really know how to win friends don't you. Skywalker is actually on your side if you did but know it, yet you look to argue pointlessly with him too.

I wonder how long it will be before the members on here turn on you like they did over at Mi6. Now that REALLY would be an achievement, consider your viewpoint, and the website you are currently on.

I appreciate you consider Craig to be 'Not the best looking guy on the planet', but get one thing straight London - Don't diss the JEDI.

Whether you like Craig or not, consider him to be Bond material or not. To dismiss his acting ability adds insult to fair minded members. I do not consider Craig to be Bond in CR and I have stated my opinion several times. Some members agree with me, others do not, but everyone appreciates my input and no-one f*cks with me. Comprende.
“I'd like to thank the Royal Marines for bringing me in like that and scaring the s--- out of me,” Bond Hardman Daniel Craig.
