I recently joined CommanderBond.net a week ago but after two days my interest waned and I don't think I'll return there. I already have enough Bond forums to discuss Bond stuff.
As for the copywriting thing, yes, I've noticed a lot of n00bs recently joined and were posting a bunch of QOS stuff, probably trying to be contributing Bond fans but that might have caused this shut down. Either that or there's problems with the server. Hope to get a real answer.
MI6 has been down for a while.Usually,if it's a server, it gets fixed *fairly* quickly. Which is suggestive to me that it might be related to copyright issues.
The whole MI6 site is down. For some reason I had the impression it was just their forum.
"Those were the days when we still associated Bond with suave, old school actors such as Sean Connery and Roger Moore,"
"Daniel didn't have a hint of suave about him," - Patsy Palmer
I think the Absolutely James Bond forum was taken down once because of copyright issues. I don't really understand why they target the big Bond forums as other sites, blogs etc just post any picture they want.
Well, MI6 has close ties to EON.I'm not sure if the warnings about copyright issues have come up on Commander Bond the way that they have at MI6.I dunno, they seem less *searches for a word and settles on "uptight"* about it at Commander Bond.
Favorite Bond Movie: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible, Kingsman: The Secret Service and The November Man or any upcoming actioners starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good since it will help him expand his reputation as an actor especially in the action realm)
Favorite Movies: Star Wars Indiana Jones Star Trek The Dark Knight Trilogy Harry Potter Middle-Earth The Matrix Mission: Impossible The Mummy Jurassic Park Godzilla
I mean,I understand that they need to be careful about such things..however, instead of jumping on people that post non-copyrighted stuff they should have a sticky notice telling people not to do so.Just a thought. Most people know not to..it would be more for the benefit of new posters.
Yep, well I think the majority of people learn after their first mistake, and (we might disagree here, but oh well ) I think most people aren't jumped at after their first offence. At least the mods are nice about it, some members can be rude, but that's the way people are.
What's stupid is how some members purposely disobey the rule thinking they have a special privilege because the image has been altered or they add a little c to it. It's still copyright and they should know that...And I've seen some longstanding members do it too...
I know EXACTLY what you mean about people putting the c with the picture. And no, people don't get jumped on for disobeying the rule.It seems to be new posters doing that mostly, though as you said there are some people who *blatantly* break that rule-and people who should know better, to boot.
