I can't believe you are actually admitting to it too. How do you hope to have any credibility on here, slagging Craig off, when everyone knows you actually like the guy but are just doing it to get back at MI6.

It's not nerdy, you are right. It's pathetic. Sad, that you change your whole opinion on an actor just to get back at another site. Is your life that empty that you feel the need to do that? A bunch of `nerds' as you put it, forum members you don't even know, and they bother you so much that you have to do this? I don't get it.

And what do you hope to achieve by it? That everyone on MI6 starts quaking in their boots, shaking with fear because Katied is on another forum slagging them off? I'll let you into a little secret here. Noone has once mentioned you on there since you left, and I seriously doubt anyone on there would give a toss what you thought about them either. Everyone here has genuine opinions on Craig, either pro or anti. I respect that, but I'm afraid your throwing-rattles-out-of-a-pram tantrum is childish and pathetic, and one I cannot respect.

You don't really have a valid reason to post on here, other than to get back at MI6.

LOL I was thinking band and meant movie* There is a difference between being a nerdy fan of a movie/movie franchise and a normal fan

The nerdy fans are what I see a LOT of on messageboards.Self-appointed *experts* on the movie(s) that they like(or, in the case of Bond, the franchise)."Interlopers", who might not be as big fans of the films, are not welcome, and scared off(I have certainly seen a lot of that :?)

EDITED TO ADD:

Although technically the above people fit the description of the word *fan*, they in fact give fans a bad name. They are why certain fandoms have a reputations for having more fanboys(and even some fangirls) in their midst. Fandom should be for everyone(stating the obvious...) but for some people, if you don't like a certain fandom's movies or what have you, you're less of a fan. That, respectfully, is the biggest load of cr*ap I have ever heard. But it's common in a lot of fandoms. It's common among Bond fans(big shocker there :?)

(The biggest blight on fandoms is fanboys.Opinions are like a certain part of the anatomy.Everyone has one.And anyone with a computer can tell the world what they think of a certain movie. But sometimes those opinions are nerdy. And nitpicky. And ridiculous.)

Then there are fans who just like films for what they are. They don't feel a need to dissect every aspect of the films and go on and on about how great it is  I think I fall under the "liking the film for what it is" fan.(with excursions into criticising movies if I don't think the actor in the role is suitable of course :?)

*for those of you who saw the post earlier and wondered what I was talking about.

"Bond 23: Brought to you by MI6, the internet's best James Bond site(or so they say ) and Kool-Aid. If you hate this movie, the terrorists win!"

(the scary thing is, that isn't too far from the truth :P)

Yup, it's tempting to make a fool out of her (then again she can do it all by herself- *ba-dum-chh!*), so I should stop. I just want to say that at least the anti-Craig have their own ideas of what a Bond film should be like, I don't think Katied has expressed something like that, all she's said was that Bond films "shouldn't be Bounre-lite" and "shouldn't go back to the old formula". That's it. I've heard no suggestions from her. All she does is say what they shouldn't do while at the same time go "yeah, that's so true, I agree! Watch the pro-Craigs defend, LOLZ!" everytime someone makes fun of Craig and his films.

Bond fans(the nerdy/socially maladjusted ones) seem, from what I've read, to want the silly, camp OTT cr*ap and Bourne wanna-be cr*ap.Some of them are even open about it. That's not a good thing by the way. With Forrestette Broccoli running EON, those fans will be happy as a pig in,well, you know :?

'BJ' ............hi, we all know that you are not looking forward to seeing Craig in QOS............but
have you heard that there's a possibility that part of Bond 23 could be set in New York, as suggested
by Brocolli and Craig!!

Do you think those two are trying to rub salt into your wounds...........as i believe you told us you live
in NY.

Just giving you advance warning!!!

Hi 'Razor' (i think thats a cool name)

Am i right in assuming that the Corsican brothers are 'Stocks & Sweeney'.

You do have a point that most peoples views are based on views of the English
speaking Western world...........but these are the people who make up the majority
of the Hollywood cinema going audience!!

The Sweeney wrote: CR equalled, or beat DAD at the BO worldwide. Does that mean old Brozza was not accepted as Bond either then?
As Dan Akroyd would say "Jane, you ignorant slut!"
We really can't expect much better from you can we.
You joined to toll the site in an attempt to destroy it. You make obtuse rebuttals and argumentative retorts wherever you can.

If you want to compare Brozza, then yes he beats Craig becasue he was accepted as Bond with his first film. Before he was even cast he was accepted as Bond. Although being cast twice helped.
He was the top choice of numerous public polls running up to his 1990s affirmation. In the publics mind he was James Bond and still is just as Connery is.

Craig on the other hand has not convinced the majority of theater goers he is Bond. This does not go into whether they like or dislike him or if they'd go to a movie featuring him.
All is speaks to is whether he convinced people he was Bond. He didn't and the fact they changed the series so he could be in it does not make the the job of convincing people any easier. There is a 44 year history the public has with the Bond brand, their concept of Bond didn't change because the Brocs stamped a kosher seal on Craig's head.

Drastic changes were made to the series and that make it more difficult to convince people the main character they have known on sight for so long, to one that is so utterly and fundamentally changed. Craig attempt is 180° from where Bond was, so Craig not convincing people he is Bond has to be expected.

Got it in one. :)

Most peoples views are based on where they are; Economically, socially, and so on.

Only the US and Uk markets are primarily English and can be the majority, however in some cases are the minority.
Movies like The Da Vinci Code/Star Wars/Indiana Jones do good business in the US/UK markets combined but more worldwide which would have been dubbed in other languages.
Movies like Superman Returns earn a majority of their BO take in the US/UK.

almost a universal maxim: People believe that their opinion/belief is in the majority. They also consider world history as beginning in their life time.
It is not practical and they may even know better, but it is how most humans view the world around them.

I predict QOS will be more successful than CR, for both the film and Craig himself.

You were wrong with your predictions last time, bj, and I was right. You have now laid down the gauntlet for your predictions this time, and so have I.

Come November, one of us will be right. Wonder who it will be. Not long now...tick-tock, tick-tock....
It will open with $55 million opening weekend in the USA. How can it not, with limited competition, except Madagascar II, and with 2008 being a year of ridiculous box office numbers. After that, it will drop off a lot faster than CR did and I do not see it overtaking the $167 million it did in the USA, even with higher ticket prices.

Its just that i didn't want you to get hurt if you turned up on set in 2 years time..........and called DC Mr potato head!!

I have two words for the Craig fans here: Kool.Aid. Repeating myself?Yes.Making a point? Yes. Like I said before(again, not to repeat myself) but if he commited some *heinous* crime the pro-Craigs here would defend him.Figures. :?
