Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
The bottom line is that Craig's Bond has NO relevance to the historic iconic franchise developed by Saltzman and Broccoli and is not being reinvigorated, but rather repackaged, into another spy film genre's concept. Aside from Dench, WHAT relevance does this trailer have to a James Bond film? Enough with this psyche-ego babble exploration of why Bond does what he does. The entire premise of the film should be a fun ride to escapism, not a depressed reaction to being betrayed, by a woman he hardly even knew! Craig takes all of the fun out of a franchise that WAS entertaining and interjects his sour faced Bond on screen which makes his films nothing more than a sad attempt to capitalize on his ability to do stunts while copying another recent concept in the spy film genre:The Bourne Mimicry will not disappoint those who believe Bourne is in, and Bond is on hiatus. Enjoy this? I rather think not.

I disagree BJ, I find the Craig films to be more stylish and fun since the Dalton films, if not, Connery era. I think it looks to be better than CR. Do I think QOS will be the best Bond film ever? No, but I wouldn't be surprised if it reached my top 5. And that shot with Bond and the baddie falling through a ceiling glass looked pretty cool.

* yawn* predictable ain't even the word. In more ways than one
What I see is a lot of ripping off of other films. And the falling through the glass roof is the world's biggest movie cliche.

OTT scenes can work for either actor IMO, as long as they're executed well. For example, I thought the action scenes in GE were pretty cool such as the PTS (except the plane dive) and the tank chase in St Petersburg, but it was the other three films that I found very bland, but that's Vic Armstrong for ya. Going further back, I LOVE the gasoline tanker chase in LTK.

Sony will eventually take over after they buy out Eon I believe. Then we will see where they want to go. How much will Eon go for? Will Sony have the free cash on hand? Imagine a Bond film with no Broccoli involvement? Hopefully not another NSNA situation. Barbara and Michael will want big bucks to walk away.

Get rid of them both. She's worse than he is. The longer those two are around, the more carbon-copy Bond films we'll get. It'll be dejavu,to say nothing of Bourne lite for every film until they die or quit.

Sony running the Bond films would be better than the current situation-with Broccoli and Wison losing their way-and their touch.bjmdds wrote:Sony will eventually take over after they buy out Eon I believe. Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Wrong. EON is owned by DANJAQ, which happens to be the true company responsible for holding all the rights to Bond, and is also ran by Mike and Babs. Even if Sony bought EON productions, DANJAQ could hire a different production company altogether and get away with it legally. It's quite genius of Broccoli and Saltzman to make such a strategy to insure that no one would get in the way. No matter what happens, the Broccoli family will always have the film rights.bjmdds wrote:Sony will eventually take over after they buy out Eon I believe. Then we will see where they want to go.
