I take it that was a joke. Not a very funny one if it was.

Right. I hope to see TDK this week when the circus I travel with has a weekend off to let the Clowns decompress. Is it better than Casino Royale?

Or alternatively:

People who genuinely love Craig as Bond

Image
People who openly criticise Craig as Bond

Image
People who have doubts about Craig as Bond but are afraid to point out that the emperor has no clothes.

It may be wishful thinking on my part, but I do detect more and more criticism of the new Bond.

Hopefully this ridiculous charade will come to an end soon, and we can have James Bond back.

NO...NO...NO...............i'am sorry to say this chaps (well not actually), but i think that QOS will permanenly seal DC as Bond in the franchise.

You're gonna have to wait a decade before things change...........so enjoy the franchise as it is at the moment, it could be a lot worse and you know that.

I've noticed that, too. Whilst wouldn't say there's a full-blown backlash, it seems to be becoming acceptable to admit you don't like Craig in polite company.

I don't agree at all. There is no comparison to the hate-fuelled campaign leading up to the release of CR from the original CnB site, or the amount of members on MI6, AJB and CBn who were anti-Craig. These days I can count on one hand how many anti members reside on those forums, and this particular forum has hardly doubled in size recently has it.

Sorry guys, but it's either your over-active imaginations running wild again, or just good old fashioned wishful thinking....

I've noticed that a more realistic tone has finally started to settle on Craig. I had a look around the forums today for the first time in a while and the newest thread on AJb concerns DC's height, or to be more precise his lack of it, while on Cbn, of all places!, someone has broken through security and made a series of very interesting posts about how Bond was dumbed down in Casino Royale and so stupid he'd have been better off being played by a teenager rather than a man in his late thirties.

I'm sure MI6 will be the last to fall, but there are more critical posts on the unmoderated afjb now, and on more general (ie not Bond-specific) movie forums like Box Office Mojo.

You mentioned *that place* not me :P But yeah. They'd rather drink the pro-Craig kool-aid.

Kristatos is now in the command centre moving arrows around on a map and Skywalker is currently behind enemy lines. If I told you any more I would be shot. Either that or forced to attend a Daniel Craig film festival.

You guys must have short memories or something. AJB was notorious for anti-Craigers before CR's release. MI6 had its fair share too, so did CBn. Critical posters were EVERYWHERE back then.

Have you all suddenly forgotten this...?

Yeah, that's a point I've always made. I was one of those people who used to post elsewhere and then Craig came along and a lot of people had a strop (including me) and drifted away or got banned or whatever. Those that stayed slugged it out for a while longer and then finally realised that moaning about Craig in some of these places was like urinating into the punchbowl - they were just spoiling it for the fanboys wetting themselves over Craig and coming up with bizarre theories about how Bond was never supposed to be handsome anyway etc. Leave these fickle fanboys to it I say.

To pick up on earlier comments I have noticed a few naysayers piping up on Cbn lately. That is very weird because that place is the most one-sided Craig luvfest you'll find anywhere.

But I'm not talking about before the film's release. Back then, I was one of those saying "give Craig a chance". I'm talking about just after CR's release when being critical of the film and its star was about as socially acceptable in the fan community as being an atheist in the Deep South.

I can still count on one hand how many anti-Craigers are on MI6. The same can be said for CBn and AJB too. There isn't a mass revolution suddenly happening, nor is there is a sudden surge of anti-Craigers popping up everywhere. If there was, this place would have surely seen some of the new recruits. And I would expect a few varying opinions to pop up now the movie is drawing closer.

There has been some criticism of the trailer, of the poster and of the new song (even I've contributed to that), but as for Craig himself, I don't see hardly any at all. The one, (yes one, and only one) bit of negative news that I'm aware of, to come out of the woodwork this year is from Gemma's report on Craig wearing shoe lifts. That is hardly the same as the mass media trashing that went on back in early 2006.

Guys, Arthur Brain is right. This is all in your own heads. You are wanting to believe it, desperate for a return to the goold ole' days of 2006, when there was a significant number of fans voicing their dissent. Sadly for you lot, Craig proved himself with the masses.

If QOS is an even bigger success than CR (which I reckon it will be), I can't wait to see what the reaction will be on here.
