There is an interesting article on AICN about a film version of the Watchmen graphic novel.
Matthew Goode is mentioned for the role of Ozymandas. I think he would have made a great young Bond.
Also interesting is that Daniel Craig was connected with the role of Rorschach in the past. He would have been great in the role - and I'm not trying to be funny!!
Here is a picture of Rorschach.(I dont know who the man on the left is!).

I recall a few people suggesting this on AIC long before Craig was linked to Bond or especially well known. I think his weasel like character in Road To Perdition made people think he'd be a good Rorschach.

I sometimes wonder if it's because of roles like this that some have a hard time accepting Craig in the role of Bond. How many of the other actors who've played Bond have played villainous parts in films. Especially before they became Bond.
Too me it shows what a good actor Daniel Craig is, but that's another story. And I know I'll most likely be cut down with anti-Craig comments because of my opinion above.
As for Matthew Goode, I'm not familiar with him, but on looks alone, I can see a young Bond there. I'd have to see him act before I gave him the official nod.
I think you have a point in stating that Daniel Craig was unBondlike in many of his other films because he was playing a role.
But, for me, just as he was not Bond material in Road to Perdition, The Trench, Tomb Raider etc, he was not Bond material when he starred as James Bond in a James Bond film.
Matthew Goode is 30 (I think) and does indeed play Adrian 'Ozymandias' Veidt in the upcoming Watchmen film. I think I remember an article on MI6 from early 2005 where it suggested that he and Luke Mably were under consideration to play a young James Bond in Casino Royale.

Favorite Bond Movie: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible, Kingsman: The Secret Service and The November Man or any upcoming actioners starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good since it will help him expand his reputation as an actor especially in the action realm)
Favorite Movies: Star Wars Indiana Jones Star Trek The Dark Knight Trilogy Harry Potter Middle-Earth The Matrix Mission: Impossible The Mummy Jurassic Park Godzilla

I think Goode was a better candidate than Mably (pictured below)
