No bias at all then. Tell me, if Brosnan was still Bond, and all the MI6 members were sounding off like Sony PR Brosnan fans, would you have a problem then?

No, didn't think so....

No need to explain. The MI6 forum beat the innocent enjoyment of a series of escapist films out of you.
It does that to a lot of people
They certainly stopped you enjoying CR......

Well, you tell us. When you were dissing the Brosnan films on there at the time of their release, were you made to feel unwelcome or told you weren't a "true Bond fan"?

I used to browse the Bond forums a lot when I first got connected to the internet. Looking back I don't recall any rival camps or flame wars. People debated the direction of the films rather than the actor. Everyone got along. I enjoyed Brosnan in the role but I liked Timothy Dalton a little more and also rank him below Connery and Moore. I get a bit tired of the assumption that anyone who has a problem with Craig must think that James Bond started and ended with Pierce Brosnan. So, anyway, I hope the next Bond actor, if there is one, can unite everyone again. To achieve this end I suggest they cast a traditional James Bond type who can act a bit.

I will never know, as I only started posting on forums a couple of years after DAD, which I took pleasure in slating constantly. If any member dared to tell me I wasn't a true bond fan for not liking DAD, I would have told them where to go (I recall quite a few battles with certain members back in those days). It certainly wouldn't have forced me off a board because I was in the minority (as proves the case why I'm still on here).

I understood where you were coming from, even if I didn't agree with it, until the very last bit.

Have you seen Craig in Enduring Love, Road to Perdition or Our Friends in the North? To say he cannot act at all is ridiculous to say the least.

I think the Telster was suggesting that they should get a Bond actor who can act and looks like the traditional Bond type instead of someone like Craig who can act but lacks the traditional Bond looks.

But Terry can clarify it!
Bring back Bond!

Enduring Love was one of the first movies I watched when I first signed up for Netflix. It's not bad,but not rewatchable(and I'm a big fan of Samantha Morton, who plays his girlfriend in the movie)

Just watched Licence to Kill and it's still one of my favorites. Dalton and the rest of the cast really just steal the show. The chemistry between Dalton and Davi is just right, Carey Lowell is still the most convincing tough Bond girl of the series, and even Del Toro, Zerbe and the rest shine, aside from Wayne Newton. Makes me look forward to QOS, which I hope will be an improvement.

Still, it's a shame Dalton's tenure was cut short by legal entanglements. :( Connery is my favorite, but when it comes to acting it's Dalton who takes the spot for best Bond actor.

Just to let you all know, I'll be away for a few days, visiting my wife's family in West Virginia. Back next Tuesday.

In the end of a bad breakup right now with my long time girlfriend so I have been AWOL a bit. Mama Mia looks like it might be Brosnan's biggest non-Bond hit yet, even up against TDK.

Yes, I know I'm in the wrong thread.

He'd finish last place in a James Bond lookalike competition too.
:P

I take it that still is from a film? Isn't he constantly winning 'Best Dressed Man' awards?

Carl already answered this but to repeat him, you missed my point. Brosnan had the Bond image/look but those who are critical tend to focus on his acting. With Craig it's the image/look that naysayers tend to focus on. My point was that they could try to get someone who combined both qualities. I wasn't saying Craig is a terrible actor. I've seen several of his films and he's fine for the most part.

Woah.Same here.Well, I'll be in Louisiana, not West Virginia, but still....

To answer a few posts:

1)I always liked Dalton's Bond films.I wouldn't say they're classic, but they're rewatchable(The Living Daylights is a favorite of mine)

2)BJMDDS,sorry to hear about you and your girlfriend

3)Sweeney,I just was not impressed with the trailer for QOS.It didn't excite me.For an example of a trailer that gets me wanting to see the movie, see Hellboy 2, or Mama Mia 8)

While I'm in Louisiana I'm going to be going to New Orleans, where LALD was filmed. Not sure if I'll get to see any of the places where the movie was filmed, but I'm excited to be going there, especially to see how the city is doing post-Katrina.

Who needs Amy Winehouse? This girl is IT! Let Duffy do TBM title track and salvage something out of what appears to be a Craig stunt-fest as Bond. Even our sweet K-T'd would agree I think! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KE2orthS3TQ Excellent voice for this Bond film. Agree?

I've heard Duffy's voice and she's pretty darn good, though some at the place that can't be named will say that she is hyped. So is Crackhouse.Ten times moreso,I dare say!

Can't say I'm blown away, but when it comes to female singers these days, she's certainly one of the talented of the lot. I don't care who gets the title song as long as the singer is competent.
