Were you disappointed after seeing CR at the cinema?

It can't have been that bad. Didn't she post she'd seen it 12 times?

Talk about flip flopping.
I enjoyed CR, but only managed 3 viewings in the cinema.
My standard for watching all the Bond films since GE is about 3 at the cinema. Though with DAD it was only twice.
Once to view it.
Twice to make my mind up.
Third time to relive my enjoyment.
Now one last little thing. Which celeb or famous person would you like to go on vacation with?

Oh Benny, we all know it's actually a fabrication by EON like all the majority of raving reviews, polls, ect ect.

I've only seen two Bond films in theaters (DAD and CR) with the latter twice. I saw DAD with my cousin, years later when we finally watched CR we decided for it to be a tradition that we'd only see a new Bond film together.

I've probably seen a couple of films twice, I rarely ever see a film three times. The only films I have seen three times were Batman Begins, Superman Returns and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Once was bad enough for me.
It's only since I've had my own transportation that I've seen the Bond films three times Stocks.
Before that I had to rely on my parents or big brothers to take me.
I've seen all the Bonds at the cinema since OP back in '83. A film that would start my interest in OO7.
Happy days. Though there really is nothing to beat seeing Bond on the big screen.
QOS will be no different for me.
Not sure I'll be able to break the record of the un-official champion with 12 viewings though.
As for Eon rigging polls. Are they at it again. Oh no, that must be it...the money they spend...never happened before of course.

Well we can make up our minds come november Stocks.
Should be just as much to look forward to as CR was back in '06.
Of course should QOS do any less business be prepared to defend the film. If it does any less than CR then it has to be a flop. Especially in the US. The worldwide take doesn't matter.
I think The Dark Knight will take the top spot for biggest earner this year, but Bond will almost certainly be up their with the big money makers.

Ok, now for the tricky question. What has changed about CR now, that you don't like it anymore? You saw it 11 times at the cinema, so you must have really, really enjoyed it before, so why do you not like it now? Is it the fact you have seen it too many times and are now bored with it?

I thought The Sweeney's question was directed specifically at katied. If the question you're referring to is whether I looked forward to CR, then yes I did. I had my reservations about Craig based on the publicity photo that accompanied his casting, but I thought I'd get used to him once I got absorbed in the movie, in the same way that I had accepted Dalton and Brosnan as Bond by the end of their first films. In fact I was even looking forward to QOS, albeit with some trepidation, until I saw the trailer. The trailer hammered home to me that I still can't bring myself to think of Craig as Bond, however hard I try (and contrary to the beliefs of the pro-Craigers here, I did try and try and try), and that it is likely to replicate many of the things I disliked about CR, only more so.

I agree. Casino Royale was ruined by Craig as Bond and the cack-handed reboot/young Bond element.

I was hoping for a fresh start in QOS. But we have a hangover from Casino Royale - i.e QOS is James Bond II, part of a new series for people who hate the old James Bond franchise.

Craig looks simply awful. What is Dench still doing there? The iconography is a disgrace.

Hopefully there may be another real Bond when Craig leaves or Barbara Broccoli sells it.

Gary we were going over this same stuff when I joined this forum two years ago.
To say that anyone who likes Craig as Bond hates the old films is very narrowminded and false.
You can live in hope that oneday Craig will depart the role, but for the moment you're stuck with him.
You don't have to like it, but you may as well accept the fact that he is James Bond to alot of people. We all have differing opinions.

It looks like more of the same with our craggy Bourne Bond. I prefer a little more of the old style with a few good jokes and a James Bond who looks like James Bond.

What is it about QOS that makes you think it won't be as good as CR then?
