Annie Lennox and Duran Duran pushing for TBM theme now and it appears Jason Bourne WILL return in 2010, even if the Makeshift Python finds that boring. The Dark Knight is 2:32 in length with Oscar buzz for deceased Heath.

To be fair, I liked the first Bourne flick, it's the sequels that bored me and the camera work looked as if Greenglass just thew the camera on the floor and kicked it around. I just don't find Jason Bourne investing and Matt Damon isn't much of a lead actor who can hold on his own IMO. He's fine in assembly flicks like The Departed. As for The Dark Knight, I'm extremely anxious to see it especially after early positive buzz. I would be extremely surprised if it doesn't double what Batman Begins made, however I wouldn't be surprised if it tripled. Yesterday I found out my little sister has been anxious to see The Dark Knight, despite the fact that she never saw Batman Begins. Just by that, I could imagine how big it will end up.

BB underperformed at the box office worldwide so I am curious if TDK can fly. To even suggest Oscar buzz around a superhero movie is unheard of, but deceased Heath's death could be a sentimental cue to nominate him.

Oscar buzz for Heath occurred when the first trailer was released, but yes, his death did amplify that buzz. I don't think it's impossible for the film to get such a nom, Johnny Depp afterall was nominated for his performance as Jack Sparrow. From what I hear of early critics, this film is supposed to be up there on the level of great modern crime dramas such as Heat. Quite an achievement for a superhero flick, might prove there's more to these flicks than spandex?

It would be nice if Jack Nicholson got an Oscar nomination for the Joker, but at least he got a Golden Globe nomination for it.

Did you watch the tennis BJMDDs? It went on for hours.

Jack Nicholson was good as the joker - but then he is good in almost everything.

Sure did. Nadal was great. Changing of the guard now. He beat Federer straight up in last 2 grand slam events. Should be numero uno now. Crystal Skull at $720 million worldwide. I doubt anything will beat it this year at the box office, not even TDK. Crystal Skull close to CR's international revenue now. It was the UK's $106 million that put CR over the top. Craig-head owes you chaps a dinner!

Is it possible Harry Potter 6 will beat Indy IV this year since there will be a lot of kids seeing this?

Most definitely!!..........HP6 could end up being the biggest worldwide earner this year, ahead of Indy 4 and the Dark Knight.

Mind you the 'Dark Knight' could be the biggest earner in North America this year!!

Did UK members here notice that ITV got around to screening OHMSS today, Sun afternoon.......

opposite the Wimbledon final on the BBC............brilliant piece of scheduling from ITV again.........NOT.

Mind u i did watch some of the film, while it was raining at Wimbledon!!

ITV seem to use OHMSS as a time filler, rather than give the film a decent time slot..........like an evening showing.

No one should watch Bond films on ITV. They hack them to ribbons and show the film in a crappy pan and scan version. Last time I flipped through the channels and this was on, ITV had made some bizzare edits to cut down the running time.

The Dark Knight v Quantum Of Solace. Which one do you think will be the better film? Or the biggest hit? In the past I'd be staunchly standing up for Bond but with Cubby's franchise trashed in order to 'reboot' the series with a geriatric 007 I find myself drawn to other films more and more. The Dark Knight in particular looks very promising with excellent early reviews.

Domestics: The Dark Knight
International: Quantum of Solace

I'm thinking it will be like this just like it was for Batman Begins, only it has bigger numbers domestically.

I think The Dark Knight will be a much better film than QOS. Christopher Nolan is far more talented than any of the recent Bond directors. I don't know about box-office figures. TDK does look quite intense which might harm its overall appeal. Summer blockbusters are usually fairly light in tone and style. It doesn't bother me personally but I think the title Quantum Of Solace is starting to look like a slight hindrance. Every Bond article I've browsed recently seems to include at least one joke or snipe about the title of the film.
