Of course it includes a snipe at Die Another Day from someone at Commander Bond.net!
I told you the book is being slammed by Fleming fans. On MI6 they are going beserk. I'm waiting to read it on my holidays, but the reviews are not encouraging.

As for the snipe at DAD, surely that is expected now in this day and age.....

Not sure I agree. The scene where Nearly Headless Q introduces it in the tube station is one of the more cringe-making in DAD. I half expected a comedy "waak-waaa" trombone sting on the music score.

It's one of the reasons why I don't miss Q or Moneypenny. At first these scenes were good, but by the time they reached Dalton's era, the joke was up.
During the Brosnan era the scenes became embarrassing for me, as this was when the film reached its formula, customary Carry On comedy moment. Naff!

Ironically, Judi Dench's M scene in the QOS trailer seems to be getting the most hammering, as though Bond fans are fed up with this traditional ingredient too (a cast off from the Brosnan era). Maybe EON need to revert back to a stern male Bernard Lee figure again for M, as Fleming always envisaged.

I think it's the cognitive dissonance people object to. CR was supposed to be the first film in a new Bond franchise, and yet here we see Brosnan's M. It's like Burt Ward turning up in Batman Begins.

I don't think that is the reason why she is getting slated by internet Bond fans though (even on MI6).

It's more to do with the now worn out theme of her ticking Bond off `I need to know I can trust you', etc. and turning up on location constantly.

What?
You stated Craig has it.
He does, as far as everyone is concerned. With the exception of a minority of fans.
Where?
*points at Craig*
He is as dull a Hollywood actor as they come.
Maybe in your opinion, that doesn't make it a fact though.

You think Craig is a popular actor now in Hollywood? Based on what?

Replying to a few things...

I don't think that's why she's getting slated by Bond fans(even over at The Place That Can't Be Named)
I'm glad to see some dissenting opinions over there where QOS is concerned

Sadly, Craig's inability to draw flies outside of the James Bond bubble may result in him hanging around the Bond franchise longer than expected
Yep. :?

If QOS does tank, which i don't think it will, would we hear silence from the pro-Craigers here,or wailing and gnashing of teeth?Just wondering
We'll just have to wait and see, won't we?

Katied, rate CR vs. the teaser trailer for TBM. Anything stand out for you? The MI6 crowd is in Utopia now, even more so than for CR.

I never said he was a popular actor, I said he was a popular Bond.
Based on what?

As for having a male M, that would be sweet. I think both pro and anti Craigs had enough of Bond taking orders from a skirt for 13 years. It's time to have a man run the 00s.

Did my eyes decieve me or was Craig involved in a dogfight in a plane of some sort in the teaser. That's not very gritty and realistic!

Agreement again???? Wow! Do they wait for the next PROPER Bond to replace Dench with a male M or let her continue to 'mother' him into a proper 00 throughout his run, which hopefully will be brief? :spy:

It's not looking promising for the gritty and realistic lets-moan-about-all-the-bonds-except-CR-DN-FRWL-LTK crowd is it Terry.

Tell me Katied, have you ever fancied Craig? (careful how you answer now, as there could be evidence that may come back to haunt you...)

Also, do you think you will beat your record of 11 times at the cinema with QOS....?
