Could the reboot work with Gerard Butler as Bond? Or Gerry might be a little bit too old for this.

Butler never seems to have been a serious contender for the role. Not sure why.

Perhaps a certain woman didn't want a Butler screentest for Sony to digest.

I've been surfing around trying to find out why he was never offered the role. So far, nada. He seems to have been quite keen to play Bond. And he is a year younger than Craig, so the "too old" excuse doesn't cut it. In the words of Toyah Wilcox, it'th a mythtery.

The one that started with Casino Royale and continues with Quantum of Solace.

He was asking if Gerry is too old for the reboot series, as though something else was being filmed too, like a TV series or something....

I doubt Campbell really cared that much, as long as his cheque is in the post.

Besides, he has since gone on record stating Craig to be an excellent Bond.

Campbell said he never really wanted to do another Bond but was enticed by the idea of adapting Casino Royale and rebooting the series. I think he really liked the idea of taking a young, unknown actor and moulding him into 007. The same task that Peter Hunt seemed to relish with George Lazenby. I don't think the insertion of Sir Daniel Of Craig into this scheme was his idea.

Perhaps they missed the good old days when Craig was almost-universally condemned in Fall of 2005? I think that's what they're trying to go back to, the first impressions, as if they're more valid than whatever anyone thinks today because that was "the moment of truth" despite the fact that during that so called "moment of truth" NOBODY HAD EVER SEEN A d**n FRAME.

I think that's what they're trying to go back to, the first impressions, as if they're more valid than whatever anyone thinks today because that was "the moment of truth" despite the fact that during that so called "moment of truth" NOBODY HAD EVER SEEN A d**n FRAME.

Not me. Back in 2005, I was saying "give the guy a chance". Unlike Deanna Brayton et al, I formed my opinion of Craig and CR after I'd seen the film. Then the herd mentality kicked in on the other forums and I came here for refuge.

Nah. He's far too handsome and he's got black hair. He's probably quite tall. Completely wrong for suave, darkly handsome, superspy James Bond.

I don't know if Cavill can act but he'd look a lot better on the promo art and poster than Daniel Craig that's for sure!

I think he also wears less make-up than Daniel Craig.
