Cracky McCrackfiend, sorry Amy Winehouse, the top pick[/sarcasm] to do the theme for Bond 22,fainted the other day.She went to the ER to find out what the reason was. What do you want to bet it was drug related :?

And I just read that she wants to have a baby with her husband when he gets out of prison. There are no words.

Winehouse has become a detriment to society, as well as herself. Give her more Grammy awards to bolster her ego. Disturbed, tortured, and tormented soul. Eon will never utilize her voice now for The Bourne Mimicry.

I'll say this here, and I know I'll get at least one person(not you, BJ!) disgareeing with me that her drug use wouldn't affect her ability to record a theme for QOS.Obviously,I disagree. What would they do if she shot up before she went in the recording studio and she keeled over dead from an overdose? I rest my case.

Who knows K-T'd, if Winehouse will even be around once The Bourne Mimicry is released! This will not be a happy ending for her. There is just so much the human body can endure. Eon is heading for the hills, far away from this walking time bomb.

BJ,I seriously doubt, at the rate that she's going, that Amy Winehouse will still be alive at the end of the year.It would be a real miracle if she is.I don't think she EVER had a chance at doing the theme for QOS.Yet there are still fans that think that even though she's high most of the the time that she would actually ber able to come up with a halfway decent Bond theme.Yeah right.

Shame, she has a wonderful voice that fits Bond. I'm open for other suggested singers but I'm still disappointed that she blew it.

Same here. Her voice would have been perfect for Bond.

Stupid cow has blown it big time.

Connery recently said CR was a half hour too long, the music was junk, Craig was fine, and he should have stuck with Campbell for his films, not another director.

That wont happen Stocks, come on, not that old chestnut. It'd take a can of Mr.shine to dust it off.
Still nice to see Connery gives Craig and Campbell the thumbs up. I wonder if Campbell could be coaxed back to the mix for Bond 23 or 24? I'd approve.
Speaking of approving things, I finally got my father in law to watch CR last weekend. He was a Bond fan back in the 60's but tuned out around YOLT, he's seen all the films at one time or another, but I haven't untill now got his opinion of Craig.
The result a big thumbs up. Thought he was great, had no problem with his looks, height or hair colour. He did not however understand the reboot, but I can live with that. Some like it. Some don't.
But on the whole he thought CR was a good Bond movie, and said he'd come and see QOS with me.
He's in my good books at the moment.

In case some folks here didntknow......................but George Lazenby is in London on Saturday 21st at the
Vintage magazine shop to sign autographs.

I have recently read on the internet some very in depth articles on the reasons why Lazenby quit the role of Bond
...........and its quite an eye opener.

Do members here realise that Lazenby was only 2 weeks away from starring in DAF!!

It appears his 'moron' of a manager persuaded Lazenby to quit the role at the last moment.

Apparently Lazenby had agreed with Saltzman to do DAF for a massive fee of $1 mil dollars, bur his manager told him
not to do the film unless he was given $2 mill.

Personally i think Lazenby should of sacked his manager at the very least.................what a waste!!!

Especially as Connery "only" got $1m - an unheard of fee at that time for a single movie.

Connery was called to to it with just 2 weeks notice Brain? Lazenby was an idiot for this. Moore could have been bounced out of the role in 1973 if Lazenby did 3-4 films.

It was actually a seven film deal at that time. That's why since Roger Moore got the role, actors would have to sign a contract for three films and an optional fourth so it wouldn't scare away potential Bond candidates. The mistake Cubby made with Lazenby was that they didn't have him sign a contract before stepping on the set of OHMSS. But I suppose he thought the last thing Lazenby would do is turn down a multi-million dollar contract because you'd have to be insane to turn down that amount of money.

Above are a couple of links i found to the George Lazenby, Bond story.

What a mess, its a tale of greed, naievity and utter madness ..........

.............put it this way, how many people here would hand back a cheque
for $1,000,000 (and how much would that be worth nowadays) for a few months work?
..........nope didnt think so!!!!

On a Jeremy Clarkson chat show years ago, Clarkson questioned Lazenby about his exit from the Bond
role, and Lazenby admitted that he 'hadn't been too bright at the time'........What an understatement!

Anyway....has anyone noticed, that of all the Bond actors, Lazenby is always the one
that turns up for fan conventions and signings, yet Connery the man always linked with Bond,
always keeps away.

Can't see DC getting himself involved in this sort of madness.............Can you?

Mind you, i suppose some people do
