What do members here think to the title of 'Colonel Sun' as used by Kingsley Amis for his Bond novel.

Won't happen, EON don't own the rights to non-Fleming novels (I believe). Though The Bond Files points out many similarities between the plots of Colonel Sun and TSWLM (the movie).Arthur Brain wrote:I personally dont like the title 'Riscio'...........i mean what does it mean?katied wrote:I don't care that Riscio is hard to spell(and pronounce).I like it.

Risico means risk in italian, sounds like a good title for a Bond flick. I personally like it and think it's the only good Fleming title left. Hell I can see the promos already.
RISICOO7
And Katied it's not hard to prounounce either. Ris-i-co.

but hadn't so far come across that word.

The thing is you may know what it means, but the majority of the general public wont have a clue.

I'am still trying to get used to 'Quantum of Solace', sounds nice, but confuses everyone, bar anyone who has a degree
in English language.

Re: What would you title Bond 23?
Maybe they could just translate the title to simply "Risk".
But that doesn't sound as cool as Risico.

People will think it's the movie of the board game.stockslivevan wrote:Maybe they could just translate the title to simply "Risk".But that doesn't sound as cool as Risico.

I doubt it. It would remind them of it for a second most likely but in the end this logo will assure audiences that it's no board game.Kristatos wrote:People will think it's the movie of the board game.stockslivevan wrote:Maybe they could just translate the title to simply "Risk".But that doesn't sound as cool as Risico.

You could name a Bond film "Gummy Bear Rides the Rainbow Paradise" and it will still be a box office hit. It's not the name, it's the number.

No one floats Property Of A Lady much lately. I never did get used to that as a possible title.

Re: What would you title Bond 23?
That was the title of the never-made third Dalton movie. I wouldn't like to see it reused (though it probably will be at some point), to me, it belongs to a different movie, albeit one that didn't actually get made.John Drake wrote:No one floats Property Of A Lady much lately. Re: What would you title Bond 23?
I think The Property of the Lady belonged to the 1983 film instead of Octopussy. I don't think it's usable unless they wanted to do a remake but Mike and Babs confirmed they won't ever do remakes. For Risico it's easy because it could be the name for anything. The Property of the Lady however is literally not only referenced but a plot point in Octopussy.
From what I read, it was a rumor and never a suggested title for Dalton's third film in 1991 and eventually became GoldenEye anyway before the release date was switched from 1994 to the next year, which was the last straw for Dalton.
