It seems to me that they extended the Crusade feel rather than Raiders. There's two kinds of Indy films.

Raiders and Temple are dark, adventurous and action packed films while Crusade and Skulls are more lighthearted and cartoonish. I prefer the former but I can tolerate the latter as long as it's entertaining and I found Skulls to be. Anyway that's my take.

Indy 4 is now second biggest Memorial Day weekend opening ever, next to POTC. Not bad at all, for a 19 year wait.

I knew it would be big, but not this big. I suppose Ford's age didn't turn off a significant amount of viewers afterall.

Harrison's still pretty much the same as the last 3.

Did Indy IV feel more like an Indy film than CR did a James Bond film? I'd say it did even with the gap. Ford slipped back into the role nicely and the film, while not perfect, strived to give the audience a bit of fun and escapism.

Indy IV is different compare to the last 3, considering it's taking place in the 1950s.

I see Daniel Craig and the rest of the UK'ers are paying $8.31 a gallon for gasoline. We pay $4.20 per gallon in NYC. What is the UK government doing about this?

I remember last week I saw gas prices on every station being $3.99 and I was thinking that they refused to push it up to one cent because then things would get bad. Suddenly it jumped to $4.19. I don't own a car but I've been planning on finally leasing one but dammit those gas prices are seriously having me consider not driving until they go down it's rediculous. It would be impossible for me to make a living while spending all that money on gas, especially in California. :x

Actually 'BJ' we pay more than $8.31 per gallon in the UK for fuel. Its actually over 5GBP per gallon, which works out at about
$10 US dollars.

Our government's solution to this............is errr i dont know, though the prices continue to go up!!

I bet you people in the US would have a heart attack if you had to pay our prices...........and the prices here have our truck drivers in uproar.

I think DC can afford the prices though :) .......................and by the way its 'Petrol' not 'Gas', petrol is a liquid, gas is a errr gas!!!

I think he's talking American gallons, which are smaller than British gallons. Not everything is bigger in America.

I take the bus, so no worries about filling up the car here

Supposedly the recession is making everything more expensive.I don't see it so much.I mean,I see it little things(like the price of a newspaper going up.Still,it's something.)

The price of movie tickets is insane, and it doesn't look like getting any better. All I know,is when QOS comes out, I am going to a matinee(but that will still be $8(or more)-and it could well change before then.)

Well back to the movies!!

Katied............another thing you say your cinema prices are insane, but at my local multiplex in England, the adult price for admission is 7GBP (approx $14), but when i saw INDY 4 last weekend it was 8.5 GBP (appox $17) on the delux screen.
(Delux = bigger screen and you can take alcohol in).

Bet you don't pay that in 'California' :D.................i believe the UK is one of the most expensive countries to see the movies...............but surprisingly the admission figures have been booming over the last decade or so. :o

With todays prices for admissions, it puts into perspective, how massive the success of the Bond's in the 60's were, when 10's of millions of people turned out to see i.e. 'Thunderball' when the average 'US' admission price was a liitle over $1.

Btw: Do you still have the so called 'Dollar theatres in the States' :?:

AB

ps: Not too long now for the QOS trailer to appear..........about 5 weeks i think.

Bringing booze into movie theaters..an interesting idea, under a controlled enviroment.Just letting people in with six packs is inviting trouble. They actually have movie theaters with tables where you order dinner and you have dinner at your table while you watch the movie.*That* is an idea I can get behind.

The thing I don't get(and I don't know if this is just a U.S. only thing) is Mommy Movie Mornings, where they show movies and allow only moms and babies in-and it's completely inappropriate -like the Sex and the City movie)I actually heard of a Mommy Movie Morning where they were showing Casino Royale(!)

Unfortunately,in my neck of the words, dollar movie theaters are nonexistent. That, and drive ins(although there is a drive in with two screens in Imperial Beach, near the border)

Suffice to say,I am more selective about the movies that I see,I'm not going to spend almost $10 to see just any movie. And with some, I figure it's worth it to just wait until they're available on Netflix, since the time from when they're in the movie theater to when they're on video is pretty short(this is especially true of art house movies).

Just to clarify the 'Delux Screens' have their own bar at the entrance to the auditorium, and plastic glasses are used.

You definitely cant bring alcohol into the cinema if bought from outside.

BTW: Heard that 'Universal studios' is on fire, how did that happen?

Re: Universal Studios-they're not sure what caused the fire. It's not going to affect the MTV Video Awards, unfortunately.

Y'all in the UK probably won't be able to see it for a while(although it might be worthwhile to check Youtube since someone is bound to have put clips up there)of Denise Richards' reality show, "It's Complicated".Hi.Lari.Ous.

I take it Katie-D is not a fan of MTV? Don't blame you, one bit. Indy admission is $10.75-12.00 in NYC-metropolitan area now in NYC. There is unlawful commodity speculative trading driving up the price of a barrel of oil. Solution? Simple:DO NOT ALLOW OIL TO BE TRADED AS A STOCK ON THE OPEN MARKET! Do this, and watch the price tank! One question though:WHEN the price of oil goes back to normal, will the producers of the goods we consume and buy lower their prices back as well, or will they shaft us then? Greed my friends, does NOT work, as opposed to Gordon Gekko's philosophy on Wall Street. I want to fire the ENTIRE USA house of representatives/senate/president, and replace them all, for they have been IRRESPONSIBLE in allowing this to occur. The problem is, once you replace them with new ones, nothing changes. :(

Yup, an American pint is 16 fl. oz., not 20, so 1 British gallon = 8 British pints or 10 American pints.
