Of course it can't be as fresh or have the same impact as Raiders did in 1981. As long as it feels like an Indiana Jones film and provides me with a couple of hours of fun I'll be happy.
Good post James.

I would, but unfortunately her place is 8857.28 km away from mine, so it wouldn't be that easy to just pop over..... :007:

I plan on seeing it this weekend if I get a chance with my girlfriend. Rate it, for all 4 films, Katie-D. Where would it go in your opinion?

You rate it number 2? That says a lot. Predictions of box office revenue are enormous.

Not a gigantic opening but big enough to leave an impression for sure.

I enjoyed it. Simple as that. Nothing great, just another fun adventure Indiana Jones, that's all I could ask for.

RANKINGS:

Raiders 5/5
Doom 4/5
Skull 4/5
Crusade 4/5

Saw KOTCS this afternoon.
What a load of rubbish. Indy should've ended with the last crusade instead of this overly cgi'd weak story freak show.
I wasn't getting to excited, but I thought they could've done so, so much better.
Raiders 5/5
Temple of Doom 3/5
Last Crusade 4/5
Crystal Skull 1/5. And that's being generous.
For me KOTCS is the Indy version of DAD. What a let down.

It opened Friday less than Iron Man did, in the USA. Boxofficemojo lowered it's rating to a B+ now. Nash thought it was junk? The budget for it was $185 million. How can QOS:TBM top $230 million in budget then, if the correct amount was released? What possibly could EON be spending that kind of money on? It 'ain't' salaries, that's for sure? Any ideas?

Well, I enjoyed KOTCS a lot more than the last James Bond film I saw in a cinema. You could pick the film apart if you wanted to (as you could with all the Indy sequels and most of the James Bond series) but ultimately it was entertaining nonsense.

Movies are meant to be enjoyed, not picked apart. But there's plenty of people on the net that pick movies apart(IMDB,anyone?)

The new Indiana Jones movie is RACIST! (I haven't actually seen it, I am parodying the posters on IMDb - I don't think there's been a movie released in the last 10 years that some IMDb poster hasn't accused of racism, often on grounds that defy logic).

What I love about IMDB[/sarcasm] are people's suggestions for the next James Bond. I hadn't really noticed the racism thing so much. Now that you mention it... :P

Yep, that's just my opinion though. Which is valid if I'm not mistaken. Some people like it. Some people don't. To each our own
The budget for it was $185 million. How can QOS:TBM top $230 million in budget then, if the correct amount was released? What possibly could EON be spending that kind of money on? It 'ain't' salaries, that's for sure? Any ideas?
I'd say that alot of the budget for QOS is being spent on all the right things. Actual location shooting http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0830515/locations That's quite some globetrotting James does here. And then we have actual filmed for real action sequences. They're not cheap to do, and QOS seems to be chock full of them. And finally the cost of making films isn't cheap either. I've never left a Bond film and felt cheated. I've left disappointed, but the budget is always up on screen. Whether the film costs $100million or $250 million is irrelevant to me, I don't care how much the film cost, but I do care about how I enjoy the film. KOTCS didn't deliver the goods to me. Ironman however did. I'm hoping the TDK, Get Smart and of course QOS can finish off my movie going year on a high.
