Kids. Heroes in crazy costumes draw all the kiddies, even if the films themselves are really crappy. Spider-Man 3 is a good example. Really terrible film but it made a percentage of Fort Knox because kids can't resist superheroes in crazy costumes.

BTW, I saw it out of boredom, it's pretty good. Robert Downey Jr. was fun to watch in that film, but I bet you're not a fan of him. :P

They TRIED their best to brainwash him, under interrogation,to believe that Craig was an acceptable Bond, but it did not work. We rescued him just in time.

BJ already told us he doesn't like wife-beaters.

No, but most of us appreciate Connery's Bond, even if Connery himself is a dick. I think that was the point of the question, to see how far we can separate the artist from the art.

I just don't see how their outside problems can effect their work in a dramatic way even if done brilliantly, that's just my opinion. I recently listened to an Amy Winehouse album for the first time and I was so shocked at how good she was in it. I hate today's music, especially female singers who've been hyping Mariah Carey's approach at trying to hit the highest note as long as possible as if showing range was more important than making a good song. But Winehouse just has a lot of style and flavor in her music, it's quite amazing that this is coming from a coke adict. Now I understand why Charles Vine has been hyping her up as the must have for a Bond song. It's a shame she's having her personal problems get in the way of making a good song. I hope she recovers enough to be able to pull off a Bond song.

Well, in Winehouse's case, her problems did seem to be affecting the quality of her work. By all accounts, she just couldn't be trusted to record the song in a professional manner. It's the same reason Richard Pryor didn't get the lead role in Blazing Saddles - the studio just didn't trust him not to screw up the shoot for everybody else.

You took my sentence out of context. Say if Connery started turning into a crack addict, I don't understand how that could compromise the work done in Bond years earlier, similar to Mel Gibson's antics today effecting the work he did on Lethal Weapon. :)

I'm specifically talking about people who claim "I will never watch [insert name]'s work again".

Um, you DO know that it's official that Crackhouse is NOT doing the theme for QOS,right?

She doesn't have her s together. The level of messed up that she is would NOT be condusive to recording the theme to a Bond song.Sorry.

I don't believe people were aware of Connery's issues during his tenure as Bond. If they were, it might have affected his success as the iconic Bond. In 2008, anything seems to go, unfortunately. Look how much Grand Theft Auto did recently in video sales. It speaks volumes about the world social climate we live in.

Ah, the GTA controversy. I find it amazing how people like to spin this as a kids' toy despite that it has a rating that's the equivalent of R for movies. I'm no fan of the games, I never got into their hype but I can't see why they're no different than their movie counterparts like those gangster movies. You could say those films celebrate crime, violence and such but they're not the "hot topic" anymore because they've been around since the 1930s so people have to find something else to blame for society's problems. Because most of the older generation still view video games as a toy for kids, they knock on them and say "hey, why are you selling this to kids?" but the real problem isn't the publishers, it's the supermarkets.

These games were never meant for kids, but big stores like Wal-Mart and Best Buy sell them to kids anyway as if they were candy instead of treating them like rated R films by restricting them from the kids. I really can't blame the publishers and the rating system for this. The reason why these games get a lot of flack is because of the careless retail stores and dumb parents who don't know any better. But putting the blame on these two would be waaaay too easy for politians to take care of, so they start a crusade and hope their boasting of "we care for children" will win them publicity and enough votes in November, just showing again how they're more concerned with their voters than the people.

Why do you think I expressed my hope for her recovery to be able to do a Bond song in the future? I know she's not doing QOS, you don't have to treat me stupid, that's the other way around.

Another low blow.Do you only know how to be an a$$wipe?Seriously.

I predict she wil be dead within the year,if not sooner,at the rate she is going.I know there are a LOT of people, especially at The Place That Cannot Be Named, that have an obsession with her doing the theme for QOS(or any Bond film for that matter).EON are doing the right thing by not hiring her junkie a$$

Katied I'm gonna say this to you
YOU HAVE SEVERE ISSUES LADY!
You're a very negative person, with far to much time to worry about trivial things from the media or from internet forums.
You're like the female version of bond_fan.
My life has hit the absolute rock bottom recently with the loss of my two daughters. I have and I will admit many issues at the moment, that I have recognised and am getting counselling for. I do not seek to preach or ask for any sympathy. I am no better or worse than anyone else in the world, but I have learn't alot about myself and the world recently, and the trivial stuff that bothers you on here or over at Mi6 (it does have a name) is TRIVIAL!

It's possible, but let's hope she gets sufficiently straightened out before it gets to that point.

I think it's doubtful.Every news article I read seems to indicate Crackhouse is spiraling further and further down.Which is a shame. She's talented, but the crack thing IS a problem.
