Though on reflection CR is not as great as I might've initially thought.

A welcome note of realism there Captain.

I guess you could call it the new and improved Captain Nash.
Though I'm not about to turn my back on Craig or Eon.
Still think Daniel Craig is a great Bond and have the same confidence in Eon that I always have.
I guess I'm more open to sensible discussion and can see other opinions of the current Bond era better than before.

Yup. You can't go from this...

Without rubbing up a few fans the wrong way. I'm open to a different interpretation of James Bond but please cast an actor who looks a bit like him.

Good point there Drake. The contrast does affect 'some' Bond fans.

Blimey.......'Nash' and 'BJ'....friends!!!!

From some previous posts, it seems that some Bond fans are still iritated by Craigs casting as Bond, as they see that Brosnan probably portayed what they expected to Bond to be........which may be true.
But its highly unlikely that these fans will be satisfied in the future as the next actor is not going to be a PB look alike is he??

If Brosnan was more like this
Image

He would have been a more interesting Bond. Instead it lasted five minutes and meant nothing after he entered the garage. So let me get a pic of Brosnan's Bond that sums up his whole tenure instead of a misleading one:

Yeah, I'll take Craig over Brosnan.

Again don't get to excited bj, I'm not about to convert to anti-Craigism.
You could call me the AllBondian Nash.
Think of it as more open to all Bonds than maybe I came across as before. Yes, even the Brosnan films. TND and TWINE have always been guilty pleasures of mine. As I mentioned in a previous post last week even DAD was tolerable.
But I also watched CR this afternoon and well I thoroughly enjoyed it. To me it is just as good a Bond film as any of the other 20 before hand.
I know there will be many of you that disagree with me, but as I understand it all comments are welcome without the need to bash or ridicule the posters opinion.

Are pro-Craigers capable of defending CR against criticism without resorting to "bbbut Brosnan"?
Not just Brosnan. Moore is just as guilty too.

And yes, it seems sense to defend CR by comparing it to the dross that has gone before. If people are going to criticize how unrealistic CR is, by a girl sitting on someones lap, it is only right to point on how far the series has stretched before in terms of being unrealistic, don't you think?

Don't tell anyone BJ, but we are hoping to organise a press conference announcing Stocks, Sweeney and Nash's defection to the anti-Craig side in the next few months.

Your last sentence summed it all up and detente is now achieved. Let's hope QOS does not cause a break in the detente to cordially consider ALL opinions.

I'm looking forward to sensible discussion. And I know you do to. But so long as it's factual. It's okay to have an opinion of course, but to try and bolster a discussion with our own opinions as fact will not sway with me.
Though there does seem to be a coming together from all sides. Which I must say is nice for a change. I'm all up for it. Though I'm still keeping in the all Bonds section.

Opinions are subjective and will vary from Bondian to Bondian. Facts, such as box office numbers, quotes from actors, etc, are just facts. Together, these subjective and objective and opinionated thoughts form the essence for friendly debate. Onward, we eagerly await the next chapter of discussion, that being the QOSTBM.

Or at least put a colon between QOS and TBM, if you must. But just calling it Quantum of Solace the Bourne Mimicry, with no punctuation, doesn't make sense.

I don't think Qostbm will be as good as Koyaanisqatsi or Powaqqatsi.

The QOSTBM gag always makes me laugh!
