OK, back on topic(I sound like certain people that post on MI6-nobody who posts here though-and I'm not talking about the mods over there
)
It seems like the people that report problems there are people who are on there all.the.time.(Seriously.Do they have a life? It's a question that has to be asked). They are also people that have been posting there for a while which they think gives them some sort of entitlement.Um yeah.

Not really, but veteran members do make the site easier to maintain. There are alot of members (mods included) that enjoy logging on for a few hours, maybe more and discussing Bond. What's wrong with that? Some people like playing sports, riding horses, playing golf...fishing, have an interest in Star Trek or Harry Potter. I don't. My hobby or interest is James Bond.katied wrote:

The veteran members at any site are always a good way to make sure the forum flows well, without hassle, incident or bad behaviour. Most members follow the rules as listed when you register to any site. Most people abide by these rules, but the ones that like to push the boundaries, or consistently go against the rules are punished. I've been suspended from this site on more than one occasion for my antics. And they were deserved. I think this site is run as well as Mi6, though there are some things I'd change.

Nothing, but some of us who haven't been there as long as others are made to feel like we're inferior because we've only been there for a year and a half and don't have 80-90 thousand(or moreNot really, but veteran members do make the site easier to maintain. What I see a lot of is hall monitor behavior.Again,I won't mention any names but if you post there with any frequency you know who I'm talking about.
Forgive me but..Most members follow the rules as listed when you register to any site. Most people abide by these rules, but the ones that like to push the boundaries, or consistently go against the rules are punished
YEAH RIGHT.

This site is run a LOT better than MI6.MI6 is fast becoming a joke.Sorry.

To be frank katied, that's a lot of BS. I have no idea where you're getting this idea that newcomers are somewhat treated inferior by veteran members. From what I have seen, newcomers are welcomed. Retrokitty has only been around for only a year and she's already earned respect mostly because of her friendly attitude and contribution to the site, even sending Benny those that boquet which makes her 00-Agent status well deserved. So what if a couple of posters have 50 thousand posts made?
But I can see where you're getting this illusion. There are certain posters that constantly post on the site which makes them more familiar to users everywhere, becoming more distinctive personalities. It doesn't make them superior, they just like to discuss a lot on MI6. Maybe even your bad experience with members like Thrice are clouding your judgment. Don't attempt the "who me?" victim act, you yourself on occasion gave Thrice the attention he looks for by simply replying to him, driving a thread for about 4 pages or more. Thankfully he's been less active and doesn't provoke, which I'm betting is because everyone already learned their lessons with Thrice and have decided to just ignore his rantings.
Anyway, besides a few bad apples, I find MI6 a nice place. I'd like to add that BJ was treated well by Luds. Call me a mad man, I frankly wouldn't give a ****.

Retrokitty is EXACTLY who I was talking about. Also:She fed into the Thrice monster just as much as I didstockslivevan wrote:To be frank katied, that's a lot of BS. In the case of at least one poster an incredibly huge ego(and it's NOT Thrice!),which consists of p*imping thesmelves all the time.(post w*oring much?) It's annoying.Even Thrice is less annoying than this person. It doesn't make them superior, they just like to discuss a lot on MI6.
See above.I was hardly the only offender.Maybe even your bad experience with members like Thrice are clouding your judgment. Don't attempt the "who me?" victim act, you yourself on occasion gave Thrice the attention he looks for by simply replying to him, driving a thread for about 4 pages or more.
He's actually been behaving himself lately *shrug*.It makes me actually *want* to like him,so help meThankfully he's been less active and doesn't provoke, which I'm betting is because everyone already learned their lessons with Thrice and have decided to just ignore his rantings

Now you're coming off as someone jealous that everyone gets along so well with eachother as if they're all a group of buddies and it makes you feel like an outsider fueling your dislike for the site even more. If that's the case, I wouldn't let it bother you. If you don't like it, either contribute more or stick around here where BJ will nod with every negative thing you say. Forgive me if I am wrong, but that's the impression you're giving IMO.

Have you ever considered that it probably is that way for you simply because of your throwing fuel in the fire antics with Thrice and the fact that you're less contributing in that site recently? You're welcomed back anytime.
Really people are welcomed. All they have to do is engage. Really, do you think people like Retro, St. George and Dan are the equivalent to cliques that tell you to **** off when you try to say 'hi'? I have never gotten that impression from them. But if you want to believe that, go ahead.

If you want to rant and rave all the time Katied go right ahead. The poor me, I feel left out thing is not the sites fault.
I'm sorry that you haven't felt welcome, as Stocks said many of the members there do feel welcome. You have to earn the trust and respect of anyone by acting in a way that you want to be treated. So many of your posts seem to be negative. This might sound harsh but you're your own worst enemy. Stop blaiming other people because you demand respect.
The good thing is, people don't carry grudges or remember the past if things change. I've seen members change there attitude and become alot more welcome. If you don't feel welcome, could there be a reason for that I wonder?
And by all means, name names, link to topics that you are refering to, it helps us understand where you're coming from.
Feel free to pm us at anytime to discuss any issues you have.
Oh and Stocks, thanks for the vote of confidence.

I think it's less ranting and raving and more telling the truth.I'm only too happy to say what I think of MI6.
Continually saying "show us where the problems are"..Obviously,I've made my feelings where that is concerned clear on more than one occasion. You're not taking care of problems.
PM's to you about problems(and problem posters)just sit in your PM inboxes, unread.
Oh and I don't demand respect-it's the MI6 posters who have been there longer than everyone else and who have a crazy amount of posts-who do.

If I happen to agree with sweet Katied on certain issues, great. If I don't, great too. As for your Luds comment, if you feel locking threads because the content is bothersome to the existence of a forum, so be it. I see PLENTY of heated posting on MI6 threads that are NOT locked, because the MI6 'gang' enjoys ganging up on the so FEW remaining 'non-Craigians' there. With my threads,Luds,NicNac, and Simon all locked them, and all were popular, and I NEVER EVER attacked a single contributor, yet DogBond ran wild with the insults. Remember GS, AKB, etc? Both were very knowledgeable and were driven out as well. Katied is welcome here, NO matter what her views are. Funny thing is, many who post here cordially, wind up bad mouthing this forum when back at MI6, and I personally do not like that. Be yourself on all forums, cordially, and people will either embrace or ignore you.stockslivevan wrote:Now you're coming off as someone jealous that everyone gets along so well with eachother as if they're all a group of buddies and it makes you feel like an outsider fueling your dislike for the site even more. I'm making suggestions to you, and you throw them back in my face.
What do you expect?
Special privileges, a get out of jail free card?
You have never sent me a pm. I check them daily.
The trouble is Katied alot of this is in your mind. You think theres stuff going on behind closed doors or some kind of conspiracy. I can tell you there isn't. The real deal is, troublemakers are dealt with according to the forums rules. That's it.
Conspiracy?No.
Do people at MI6 feel entitled because some of them have more posts than others do?I think so.
As far as the troublemakers go,that's the same old same old "yes, we check our messages and yes the troublemakers are dealt with".Well, obviously that's not the truth and your rules are hit and miss at best. You(and James Page and Q et al) make them up as you go along.
As far as BJ and other posters from here posting at MI6 goes, can you blame them for being sick of all the cr*ap that goes on there? To be honest,I don't remember BJ being anything other than cordial over at MI6,even though I might not have agreed with him!
It's all about how you present yourself.Yes,I was apprehensive the first time I ever came to this messageboard. But I felt *welcome*.I can't say that I felt that way at MI6.

BJ, the reason you GS, AKB, and especially jb00seven left the site was because of one simple thing: Everyone got sick of their constant negative doom and gloom threads so they rejected you to the point where they'll no longer want to listen and just tell you to **** off. Every thread you'd make would exaggerate something negative and everyone just rolled their eyes. I remember exaggerations like "in the show David Letterman TOWERED over the short 5'5'' James Bond" which sounded ridiculous hence everyone's eyes rolling. It's no whether you like Craig or not to be accepted at MI6, it's how you present yourself that matters and everyone simply got sick of your "everything will suck with Daniel Craig no matter what" attitude because that isn't criticism, that's just looking for anything rant about.
And Katied, Benny is right. State your reasons. Or are you afraid of insulting members at MI6 who could be watching these threads on occasion? If you feel negatively towards MI6 and its users, why do you care about how they feel? This is gonna go nowhere if you keep up your "I won't say why, but MI6 sucks and I'm the victim". No one is going to relate to you unless you tell why.
