Glad you are both calming down. At first, I did not think Indy would top these other 2008 blockbuster films all out in one year, but now I am thinking Indy might top Spiderman's opening weekends in the USA and that would be an incredible achievement! QOSTBM will have a lot of box office competition this year. I cannot recall one year with so many blockbusters being released, factoring in HP, Iron Man and The Hulk as well. The Sweeney wrote:Don't worry. Skywalker and I are cool now. My original comments on the NHS were a tad insensitive. Both him and me have vastly different experiences of it, hence why the thread suddenly became heated. But ultimately, we both actually want the same thing - for the NHS to be the envy of the world it once was.Arthur Brain wrote:Blimey................this threads gone a bit over the top.
I wont comment on the Health issue!............except to say that in the UK
if you need major medical care, you dont need to mortgage your house to
pay the bills.
Back to Bond!
I think we will only get a true inkling of what the new film will be like when we see the early summer teaser trailers!

keeping a safe disatance away
Back on topic, I think Indy will easily be the biggest film of the year, topping both QOS and TDK.
The problem for the viewer now, not Eon, is where does the timeline shift to once Craig's trilogy arc ends. How do they re-introduce Moneypenny and Q after DC's exit? That would again suggest he just met them, OR, does Eon have the new Bond well advanced into his career that he already knows them as if Craig's Bond never existed? Eon is playing with 'real continuity fire' for long time traditionalist fans such as myself. Films 1-20 had forward direction;CR retreated to origin, with QOSTBM following suit. Where next, that makes sense? First things first, replace Craig and decide.Captain Nash wrote:So in your mind bj how do Eon restore Bond?
Is it just a re-casting?
Or a whole lot more?
I'm interested to see what you'd suggest. You might find that some of us here are not so different in their thinking.
Agree. This Indy film might be a real surprise, more so than thought, at the box office. If that garbage Spielberg put out, War Of The Worlds(if someone liked it I apologize) did big box office numbers, imagine what this film COULD doSkywalker wrote:The trailers look really impressive and when the music kicks in it's hard not to feel a tad excited.bjmdds wrote:There is plenty of hype around the new Indiana Jones film. I think Indy will out perform Bond regardless of who was playing Bond.
I would not believe ANYTHING EITHER one of these two say.Kristatos wrote:Actually, neither Clinton nor Obama has promised a government-run healthcare system. Dennis Kucinich was the only candidate pushing for a single-payer system, but this would have been modelled on the Canadian system, not the British one. Clinton and Obama's proposals are merely designed to extend the current system to try and solve the problem of the 50 million uninsured. But, as Michael Moore's movie Sicko pointed out, they are only half the problem - the other half is that health insurance companies make their money by denying claims. Both Clinton and Obama recieve megabucks in campaign donations from the health insurance companies, so don't look to them for any solution to this problem.bjmdds wrote:It would be interesting though if Clinton and Obama, who both praise such a government run program, would reference the UK for the shortcomings and not deceive the US citizens that what they are pushing is so great.
Bj give me examples of any continuity within the first 20 films.bjmdds wrote:The problem for the viewer now, not Eon, is where does the timeline shift to once Craig's trilogy arc ends. Why not literary fans? I can't trust Moore/Brozza fans having the franchise in their hands.bjmdds wrote:MGW needs time off? From what, making a fortune with the most revered movie spy ever? No one knows the script yet, do they...?bjmdds wrote:http://men.style.com/news/blog/2008/03/ ... es-we.html A joint venture then. Maybe MGW needs a rest after utilizing his axons and dendrites in his gray matter to come up with the QOS title. I still prefer TBM, for it seems to relate more to the script.
Paul Haggis does. The Sweeney wrote:No one knows the script yet, do they...?bjmdds wrote:http://men.style.com/news/blog/2008/03/ ... es-we.html A joint venture then. I got slightly carried away last night. After several beers and listening to my Indiana Jones trilogy CD, I wrote 'SCORE' in my previous message. I was referring to the new trailer when the music kicked in.The Sweeney wrote:Have you heard it yet Skywalker? This is one of the things I'm actually really looking forward to.
