I think it's wise to treat this story with a pinch of salt. We don't know whether he is a genuine contender, or if this is another "insiders say" story. But I think we need to get used to the fact that the next Bond is going to be younger than previous debutantes, except possibly Lazenby.
Personally, I don't necessarily think this is a bad thing. I would rather have a Bond who looks a little too fresh-faced in his first film, but gradually matures into the role, than another actor like Craig who starts out looking like a pickled walnut and gets more decrepit with age. Henry Cavill was 22 when he auditioned for CR, and still looks good now.
