Turning to the odds, a new name has now appeared: Leo Suter. A lesser-known name than some at the top of the table, Suter is best recognized for several roles on the small screen, with by far his most famous being in the crime drama Lynley and the Netflix historical war epic Vikings: Valhalla. Though he is aged 32, he cuts a bulked-up figure reminiscent of Daniel Cr-egg in Casino Royale (that takes care of the oozing) as well as cutting an appropriately sharp figure when he does decide to wear a suit..............NO WAY!

I'm happy to report the new Bond game is surprisingly good, not least because the character's personality feels far closer to Brosnan (or Moore) than Craig. It's just refreshing to see a Bond who actually appears to be enjoying himself again!

It's a little odd to see Bond hanging out with fellow recruits but I'm still fairly early in the game, having spent way too much time exploring Q Branch.

This is actually the first Bond game I've played since From Russia With Love...21 years ago! I still can't believe Babs chose to waste two decades on such a dour, one-note portrayal of the character.

I'm just hoping Denis Villeneuve grew up being a huge fan of classic Bond and Connery's portrayal in particular. I think it might be the only thing that saves us from some of these "contenders".

'Supergirl' pre-release tracking looks disastrously bad for Hollywood after lead actress' bizarre comments. Star Milly Alcock's divisive remarks and underwhelming trailers have tracking estimates far below studio hopes! Latest estimates from Box Office Theory put the film's opening weekend between $47 million and $65 million, which would be, to put it mildly, a disaster. Production costs were estimated at around $175 million, with marketing likely to exceed $75 million. Given the traditional 50/50 split between studios and theaters, that's a break-even point of $500 million at the domestic box office.

Not sure anyone should be expecting Supergirl to gross more than maybe half of whatever Superman made last year. People will likely just view it as an optional spinoff before next year's Superman sequel and therefore wait for streaming.

But it does give me an excuse to remind everyone that Jerry Goldsmith's work on the 1984 Supergirl score is highly underrated, especially considering what an impossible task he had in having to follow John Williams' absolutely immaculate Superman theme!

You also have to bear in mind Hollywood accounting. Big blockbuster movies tend to inflate their budgets and minimise their profits in order to underpay the people with a profit-sharing agreement. I think more and more, the real income comes from streaming. Although this probably belongs in the Box Office Thread,

Interesting to me that it’s more mainstream to mention production budget and advertising.

I think Mandalorian and Supergirl’s problems are they are spinoffs. And their spinoff of properties that aren’t what they once were.

Second part I think is at the market change people are streaming, and want more instant gratification than going to the theater for a two hour experience when they can stream their favorite YouTuber and get fresh content .

There's also this weird contradiction where fans want streaming shows- and are so eager they'll binge an entire season in one night- yet at the same time they don't believe those properties should be turned into theatrical releases. Because somehow, that represents a case of studios being greedy. *shrug*

But remember, we live in a world where people actually paid good money to watch Craig as Bond, so we're well past the point where box office success can be taken as any kind of reflection of a film's quality!

I don't think he'd get anywhere near the part but they could probably do worse than Leo Suter.
