Depends if he could pull off a convincing British accent. If his accent was more Johnny Depp than Dick van Dyke, I could accept an American actor in the role. We have a British Bionic Woman, so why not an American Bond?

True-there are a LOT of British actors working on U.S. Tv right now-most of them playing Americans.Weird,that! :lol:

Judging by the screen test he certainly looked the part, i think you are right about the american accent it would not have worked :D

David has indicated an interest in being a Bond baddy. Although he wouldn't do too badly as the man himself.
In 'The Lazarus Experiment' Martha Jones commented on how he looks like James Bond in a tuxedo.

When BOND was originally being cast, Brando was filming Mutiny on the Bounty. Now there was an authentic south Kensington accent! :D
